Rivana woke up with a gasp. She was pulled out of the dream right before she could get clear answers. She touched her cheek, still feeling the warmth and the small, gentle hands of Alan caressing her. It didn't seem like a dream and also not entirely a reality, but something in between—connected to her rebirth. The sensation lingered, making her wonder if there was something more to these dreams.
Her eyes then fell on Azrael, sleeping peacefully like a baby. Moving closer, she held onto his hand and pressed it against her cheek. How could this man possibly be dangerous? She just couldn't bring herself to accept it. Even if he hadn't taken a bullet today, she wouldn't have been able to suspect him, considering everything he had done for her.
