Rivana's mind whirled with confusion and disbelief. Her father's words on the paper felt foreign, almost unreal. She had never known Emmerich to be anything but cold and distant. The idea that he might have cared in his way was hard to grasp.

With trembling hands, she continued reading the letter. Azrael leaned in, skimming through the contents with her.

[Yes, I know you are very confused right now. And might be thinking someone had messed up with this letter. I can understand it as I have never once been nice to you, like how a father should treat his daughter.]

"This is so complicated," Rivana murmured, feeling her head throb in confusion. The fact that Emmerich acknowledged he had never been a good father and yet entrusted all the rights to her was unbelievable.

"Let's read it sometime later," Azrael murmured, and Rivana nodded in response.
