Chapter 4 - God's Gambit

Here we go again...

Sitting at a table in my humble garden, engrossed in my newspaper, reading the news of the day with crossed arms. — Sigh... — the news were the same, the endless wars against the monsters, giants and orcs. More Knights dispatched to die over a nonsense...

Despite the tiresome news, the day was beautiful. The scent of the watered flowers, the open blue sky, the warm and comforting sunlight...

Gray, abruptly sat beside me. — Mister A! Today you don't escape me, let's get straight to the point! — his voice cracked as he crossed his arms.

— AAAHHH!!! — Startled, I dropped my teacup. — My God, boy! When did you get here?! — I folded the newspaper, then cleared my throat. — How are you? Arrived early today…

I thought I was going to die. I saw my life pass through my eyes...

Looking fixedly at me, the idiot had a furrowed bro. — Old man, don't be polite to me, tell me the story!

I chuckled with a vein on my forehead. — I see that I left you anxious, where did we stop? — I looked at Gray. — Aham... Yes, in Arthur's question...

...

The atmosphere was tense, Hera knew that Brunhilde's life depended on the answer she would give...

Sitting in a chair in front of her, leaned forward. — Who killed queen Cassandra?

Laughing heartily, with a swollen body. — Finally…! — Brunhilde spat.

Meanwhile, in the laboratory, Selena and a physician approached Alexia's body. They gasped; the transformation was complete. Her golden hair, her features, everything had changed.

And on the island, more precisely in the palace, the queen began to notice the absence of amazons, the ancient ones disappearing, they did not return to the island. More than two million amazons had not yet returned, and the reproduction period was about to close, so...

With his arms crossed his, he leaned forward. — Mister A, tell me the part of the question...

Laughing, I raised my hands in surrender. — Okay Gray, there's no need to get angry...

...

Back in the interrogation room, Brunhilde's laughter echoed. — You're really stupid, who do you think it was? — she spat blood.

...

In the observation room, seeing Arthur torture her, Hera's eyebrows were drawn together, her lips forming a pout. "The way things are going, he can end up killing her…" she thought, with trembling hands. — Arthur... she has a daughter... you're not a murderer... — she whispered, with her hands covering her mouth.

One of the agents, seeing everything with wide open arms. — Do you all know that this is a crime? He is violating several laws now, national and international… — she stated.

Another agent beside, looking at her colleague, whispered. — He's violating the Pendragon law, but like that kid said, do you want to tell him?

...

Interrogation room, Arthur wiped his hands, smiling. — Where's Brunna's beautiful smile? Don't you want to laugh anymore? Did your gods abandon you?

Her blood covering her body and dripping to the floor, Brunhilde moaned in pain. — Agh! You… — bleeding, spat blood on the floor.

Arthur's lips curled into an evil smile. — Don't forget your daughter, don't you want her alive?

— Since you asked! Child, did you ever think that your grandmother died of natural causes? It's a shame, a pretty little shame... — she giggled. — I poisoned her, like the useless ant she was. Why, you ask? Because I wanted to! What are you going to do? Brat!  — she smiled.

His eyes shone, his aura darkened and created flames of dark energy around him. — YOU WILL PAY WITH YOUR LIFE FOR THAT!!!

His eyes turned dark purple, everyone watching was terrified, and scared by it, they had never seen such a dark aura, such authority. Hera desperately tried to open the door.

The entire base could feel Arthur's fury, and Brunhilde stopped the teasing after realizing what she had done...

Personification of Darkness, laughing behind Brunhilde with a dark dress that clung to her voluptuous body, a floating dark hair, pale skin and piercing black eyes that looked seductively around the room.

Her dark full lips forming a perverse smile. — Hmmm, there's someone very interesting here, she's coming back to life... — she then looked at Arthur. — I knew you'd end up accepting me, for now just kill her, okay? Just put your hand on her face...

With veins on his face, he obeyed without hesitation, Arthur came closer to Brunhilde.

Trembling, Brunhilde looked at the woman. — W-Who... are... you? — her voice shay as she turned her gaze to Arthur and saw his condition, his eyes. — Get away from me, you monster! Leave!

...

After trying to break down the interrogation room's door, Hera entered the observation room in a rush. — The glass... — she jumped to the glass and started punching it.

Tristan entered the room, stuck his sword in the glass, and the glass cracked.

...

In the interrogation room, Arthur pressed his left hand against Brunhilde's face, drew upon her life force, evolving into the Unrestrained Realm.

Struggling against his grip, Brunhilde lost strength with each passing minute. — Let go of me! Let me go you useless!

Arthur took the sword that his grandmother gave him from his back with his right hand and slashed off Brunhilde's head. Blood sprayed, and the room seemed to hold its breath.

A collective gasp involved the atmosphere. That was a kid's doing...

Hera and Tristan managed to shatter the glass, and rush in the room.

Personification of Darkness laughed, looking at Hera and Tristan. — Too late... — she whispered, blowing kisses and vanishing, leaving behind an aura of malevolence.

Arthur, unable to control his newfound power, writhed in pain. — AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! — Killing Brunhilde hadn't eased his suffering, it had amplified it. His grief, anger, and guilt merged into a tempest within him.

A month later, Arthur freed the amazons and ordered them to tell the queen, his mother, that he will not return to the island, that he found out what she hid, what the amazons were hiding.

Alexia's new appearance amazed everyone, taller, beautiful, with tattoos on her, leaving her admirers even more amazed, and she reached an understanding with her mother, after sincere apologies from both parties. But Arthur refused to forgive his mother...

...

— Excuse me, — I drank a glass of water. — He didn't want to go back to the island, didn't want to talk to his mother, didn't want to be looked for or found. He decided to embark on an adventure on the vacation that were knocking on the door, in search of peace.

Hera, sad after hearing this, returned to the island with Alexia. Tristan refused to abandon his friend, and decided to go with him on this adventure...

And they left, traveling around the world. Meanwhile, the queen received the news, and mourned with so much sadness, she just cried and cried out for her son, she stopped sleeping, eating, she kept trying to find a way to bring him back. Everyone avoided talking about reproduction, and Arthur's name began to cause fear in the amazons.

Arthur left, looking for relief from his many pains, looking for a reason to live. Little did he know that he was far from being relieved, but very close to what he wanted to avoid…

Arthur revoked his royal titles and privileges when he left. He wanted the amazons to stop this as quickly as possible, but reading one of the pages of his grandmother's book, he discovered that it was very dangerous, if he wanted to end it, he would have to be prepared for wars, not a war, but world wars, he had to train, cultivate, and have the King's Force.

If he wanted to defeat Zeus, defeat the kingdoms that are in his hands, he would need the King's Force, without that, he wouldn't have allies, he wouldn't have an advantage in the fight. Only then would he have a voice, he would have a name, he would have allies, and most importantly, it was not enough to kill Zeus. To get to Zeus, he would have to fight against many, and when he got to Zeus, he would fight against such a strong being, but so strong that he was capable of defeating an entire nation alone…

His beloved grandmother's words echoed: "Be careful. Don't be driven by revenge. Be prudent, wise, and patient."

The beginning of this fearsome war lurked, a war that would reshape the world…

...

Gray leaned forward, eyes fixed on him. — What happened? — he grunted.

Gesturing, I revealed the truth. — Zeus discovered that Arthur was not dead. Ares said he would return to finish the job properly, but the furious Zeus refused, saying it was better not to kill him, waiting for him to take them to the King's Force…

He didn't consider Arthur a threat...

Zeus, the great god, sat on his throne in Mount Olympus, he had a elite tunic and a golden flower crown on his head. He was huge, in height and muscles, old white hair and long beard, sky blue metallic eyes. He contemplated the possibilities, the future. — He's a Treadway, he probably knows where the King's Force is, and will lead us to it...

Apolyte, the young demi-god, clad in a silver armor and a long black hair, fierce red eyes. Her knees were bent in the marble floor, when she voiced her concern. — This is very dangerous, divine king. Arthur will become a serious threat. He might rally allies, raise an army, and declare war...

— HaHaHaHaHa! — Zeus' laughter echoed through the marble throne room, he laughed has the king of the gods, that was nonsense to his ears.

The divine palace, a world wonder. Located in Mount Olympus, the home of the Greek gods. Designed using marble, gold and cedar, classic Greek architectural design with huge pillars and memorials of divine battles in the ceilings. And the glorious throne, a place fit for the king of the gods.

Zeus dismissed the notion. — That would be entertaining, and much easier, — he started, carressing his long beard. — Do you really think he's a match for the king of the gods, the strongest god? He's an insect, I don't have time to annihilate him and all his friends at once, he's not worthy of the attention of the gods...

Standing next to the throne, waving a fan with a deep red tunic, diamond made jewelry around her body, wavy and glowy golden hair bouncing down her shoulders, fair skin, blue piercing eyes and full rosy lips embellishing her divine appearance.

The second most beautiful goddess in the world. Second only to Hera II, she had lost the Paris Championship for the first time since the Championship existed. She had a voluptuous body, curves and volume capable of instilling deep desire on every being, she was outrageous in beauty.

— And because of that Ashura who walks with him... — Aphrodite muttered, rolling her eyes.

From the marble throne bathed in pure gold, the god-king places his piercing thunderous eyes on the semi-mortal, Apolyte. — Where is Brunhilde? — he growled.

Apolyte sighed with her eyes in the floor. — … Brunhilde? She was killed by the child…

Ares, the statuesque and muscular battle god, clad in a black and red armor with his red helmet on, laughed. — I'm going to freshen up... — he turns to leave the throne room.

With his eyes gleaming, Zeus looked at Apolyte. — That's interesting, we can use that... — he pondered, looking at one of the servants. — Send a letter to the Council of Kings, announce that the god king, summons a meeting!

"You're dead, Treadway…" Apolyte mused with a smirk on her face.

Alfred confirmed to Arthur how strong Zeus was, a being capable of crushing a human's head without difficulty. Being close to Zeus was certain death, and Arthur understood that he needed to get stronger...

Gray took a notepad from his backpack, then looked at me with curiosity mingling in his eyes. — Mister A, I have a lot of questions to ask, about the King's Force, cores, Qi, Qi medicine, pills, Pendragon, domain, realms, continents, cultivation, gods, so many things...

Sweating, I was restless, my hands were shaking and my heart racing nonstop. — TERRA! BRING LUNCH, AND MY PILLS TOO… — I shouted, leaning my head backwards.

Terra's voice echoed form inside the house, a gentle and sweet music to the ears. — YES SIR...

Looking at the door of the house, I then noticed Gray's pout. — Sorry, kid. I can't stay a long time without my medicines... — I clapped my hands and rubbed them together. — Anyway, I said, organize your questions. When we finish, you'll ask. Now let's eat…!

The boy nodded with a radiant smile on his face. — Okay, Mister A…
