Chapter 32 - Scars of War!

In the garden of the Jing's manor.

Elder Jing, worried, rushed to hug his daughter and hide her face on his chest. – It's okay, Lao! It's okay... – he whispered, passing his hand through her back.

Theron's grandfather, the patriarch of the Glayder with veins on his face, rushed to help Theron.

Arthur's face had a bright smile, he was enjoying the boy's stupidity. – Don't you know the law? You cannot raise a sword against the heir of the Treadway family, the penalty for that is death! – he exclaimed, raising his sword.

Elder Glayder, Theron's grandfather, stood in front of Arthur with his trembling hands together, begging him. – Please, young master, forgive my grandson! He wronged you, but It's also written in the law that one should not raise he's sword against someone who is not in a position to defend himself... – he said with a low voice.

The law said that no one was allowed to do or show intention to harm an heir of the Treadway's, and the consequence for disobeying this law was death. However, Elder Glayder was trying to find holes in the law, but the law was clear, the boy had to die.

Saint Lancelot Chamberlain looking at Arthur, sighed. "I don't like the king's methods, but he is right in his ways. This old man is asking for death..." he thought.

Looking at Elder Blake with veins on his face, Persival pointed his finger at him. – Now you, pay the due respect that the children of Pendragon deserve! – he demanded.

Elder Blake crouched with veins on his face. – Forgive me, young masters...

Looking at Theron, Arthur smiled wickedly. – I want your head, that's what the law says! – he exclaimed.

Arthur's words gave goosebumps to everyone there, his bloodlust and kill intent filled the garden and some flowers died.

Pietra wearing a white and gold dress with a symbol on her chest, she looked at Arthur with disdain. – Now I know, and I have seen with my eyes that you were not chosen by the Light! You are not the one who would come after Pendragon, Pendragon's successor would never... – speaking, Arthur interrupted.

Hearing her voice, Arthur stiffened his posture, and frowning, pointed his sword at her. – Shut up! Since you arrived here, you still haven't realized that I don't want to hear your voice?! – questioned, walking towards her. – You, Temple politicians, are worse than the Fang family's poison! You tarnish the image of the Temple! Be silent in my presence! – ordered.

Fang family is one of the main families in the Murim empire. They are known for their mastery of poison.

Pietra smiled. – And is dishonorable to the officials of the Temple of Light. Very well, I will shut up and inform the High Priest about all this... – she declared.

Veins bulging on his face, he released his aura that knows no friends and subjugates everyone. Everyone felt the pressure of thousands of tons in their shoulders.

Lao Jing in the ground, fainted due to the pressure.

Trying to stand up, Pietra gnashed her teeth. "This aura... Is it possible that he...? No! It cannot be!" she pondered.

Lancelot, sweating and losing control over his knees, knelt. – Lo-Lord...

With veins on his face. – I've put up with your nitpicking for a long time! Enough, I'll be king! Anyone who has a problem will have to kill me! – Arthur declared, standing in front of everyone as they were in the ground.

Elder Glayder and Blake kneeling, tried to raise their heads. – Forgive us, master... – trembling, they begged.

Arthur turned around and walked away with his hands in pockets. – I want the coronation ceremony prepared! I'll give you one month!

Everyone sighed in relief, they were free from his pressure.

...

Days later, in Tristan's room, in Protoss island, he was watching Mayara practice with her sword in the training ground through his window. The pain of having his men killed was still fresh, but Mayara's beauty was an antibiotic for his pain.

In the training ground, Mayara was training full of sweat. "If only I could have a breakthrough to the Unrestrained Dimension..." she thought, swinging her sword.

With torn clothes, mistreated hair and circles in his eyes, Arthur whispered. – You need to straighten your shoulders and hips. It's not about brute force, but about agility and precision! There's no point in cutting too hard if it's not fast and precise...

Training, Mayara heard his comment and looked at Tristan's bedroom window with veins on her face. – COME FIGHT ME IF YOU KNOW TOO MUCH! – she shouted with clenched fists.

Looking at her reaction, he blushed but cleared his throat and turned his back on her, looking at his trembling hands. – I no longer hold a sword, the war has rejected me... – trembling, he said.

Mayara squeaked. – Hmph! Weakling... – she whispered, going back to her training.

Looking at his hands. – I RAN AWAY! I ran away... – kneeling, he shouted with tears in his eyes. – I made a mistake, I shouldn't have run away! I shouldn't have... – putting his hands on his head, he cried.

..

Some time ago, in a forest in Kyoto, Tristan dressed in white and gold uniform, riding a horse in the middle of the deep forest, he was in front of a troop. "I told her not to go..." he thought, sighing.

One of Tristan's soldiers on a horse, approached Tristan and said. – Captain, we're close to the enemy's cave...

Looking ahead. – Were you able to see anyone from Gertrude's troop? – Tristan asked.

The soldier sighed. – We just saw an empty camp...

Hearing that made veins appear on Tristan's face and his hands tightening the halter and speed up the horse's pace. – Let's go!

The soldier, rushing, shouted. – Men! Come on, hurry up!

...

Hours later, in the middle of the forest, Tristan found Gertrude inside the enemy's cave.

Unable to move due to his dread, Tristan watched his soldiers being eaten alive. "My God..." he thought, trying to move his muscles.

Chief Gertrude, moaning in pain with her body bathed in blood, Tristan watched powerless as her eyes were being removed. – Kyaaaaaaaah!! – the woman's scream echoed through Tristan's mind.

Tristan, tried to rush to help her, but saw another man behind her, it was the leader of those monsters.

The leader of the monsters was a six-foot tall pale skinned man, with black eyes, long loose hair, sharp teethes and dressed in a black gi. He was laughing with pleasure as he grabbed Gertrude's neck and licked her. – You won't stop staring at her, is she your girlfriend, boy?! – he asked, looking at Tristan with a wicked smile.

Gertrude being held by the neck, immediately knew it was him. – T-Tristan?! Tristan, please run away! R-Run away, please! – she said with a trembling voice, as she cried blood. – Please, don't be stubborn like me! Do this for me, at least this! G-Go warn the queen! We're no match for them! – she begged.

The monster, holding her by the hair, pierced Gertrude's stomach with his hand. – AAAAHHHHHH – she screamed in agony.

Seeing Gertrude scream, tears fell from Tristan's eyes, and he turned to the exit but bumped into a giant monster.

The monster looking at Tristan, laughed. – Would you let your woman die here alone?! You are not worthy of living, despicable human!

A soldier of Tristan pierced the chest of the monster to give Tristan a chance to escape. – Look at me you bastard! – he ordered as he held his sword in the monster's chest.

Seeing the sword on his chest, the monster smiled and broke the sword leaving Tristan and the soldier in awe. – You humans don't stop fighting even though you don't have a chance?! – he asked, looking at the soldier.

Tristan took out his sword, and tried to help the soldier, but the soldier wielding his sword with the monster in front of him, looked at Tristan. – Captain, go get reinforcements, please! – he demanded.

Another soldier about to be split in half by a monster. – Captain, HELP!! – he pleaded.

Tristan's body was shaking, it was extreme fear, he looked around and saw monsters eating his soldiers and drinking their blood, then he looked at Gertrude. – G-Gertrude... – he whispered, seeing her body on the ground with a black hole on her stomach and missing a part of her shoulder.

Chief Gertrude on the ground, drowning in her own blood, she said. – T-Tristan, if y-you're still here... P-please listen to me just this time. Run away! Forgive me for asking this, but... – her breathing was weak, Tristan could feel the moment her spirit leaved her body, and she gave her last breath.

Tristan, turned to the exit, and ran non-stop while tears came down his eyes. – It will not end like this! I will have my revenge! – he grumbled, gnashing his teeth.

..

Outside the cave, Tristan took his horse and rushed towards his base with tears.

...

Hours later, in the courtyard of Tristan's base.

Tristan, in fear, watched the base catch fire and some soldiers putting out the fire, and others building barriers. – What is happening here...

The leader of the monsters, laughing, entered the base, spreading a black aura. – You're too dumb! It would have been better if you died there! – he said, chuckling. – You coming back here only helped us find your base...– smiling into Tristan's soul, he smelled Tristan's fear.
