131. Bastard’s Ambition

Harrington and Bethany sit before Nytri, Bethany looks down and places her hand on her chest speaking from the heart. "Nytri, I understand if you resent us. I a-"

"I came here because of a request." Nytri cuts her of then her thoughts, "I seem to be repeating myself….." She looks at Harrington, "Look at that bastard, he's already thinking of ways to use me, meh."

Harrington looks at Nytri with a calm smile, his thoughts being unpleasant. "Look at how she's grown and beautiful. If I knew she'd grow to be this beautiful I wouldn't have hired bandits to kill her. No matter, no one knows about that incident, I personally had the scoundrels killed after dealing with her. With her beauty, even I can make her the second or third wife of a duke family." He grins looking at Nytri, then he notices something strange. "Huh? Why has the color of her eyes changed? Rather, her eyes have been like this since I saw her. It feels like she's looking at my soul."

Harrington had no idea why Nytri's eyes looked different from when he last saw her, Nytri looks at the 2 and sighs. Nytri's eyes changing color to the symbols means she's entered BATTLE-MODE and hence, she can read minds.

Nytri looks at them with a smile, "I have no resentment towards you. I came here because of a request." And her thoughts, "I really can't get angry or anything. It's like a little fish trying to swallow a woe-whale. Just tell me what the damn request is! If it's not good I can get rid of them."

"That's good," Harrington speaks with a smile, "Since you're back, how about you stay for dinner. I'm sure we have a lo-"

Nytri glares at Harrington and a chill goes down his spine. She made her presence, though a little, known to Harrington.

"What's this?!" Harrington thoughts trembling then he speak, "Yes, sorry." He starts sweating.

Nytri sighs, "If there's nothing else, I'm leaving." She gets up to leave.

Harrington speaks up, "Great tiger!" Nytri stops looking back at him and Harrington continues, "A great tiger has moved into the mountains. I requested for the Azure Blades to get rid of it."

Nytri turns to them, "And you want us to slay it?"

"Yes," Harrington speaks, "But scaring it off will also do. I'll pay you handsomely." He grins and his thoughts, "I'll double the payment and say it's a gift from you father."

Nytri looks at Harrington in thought, "Hearing this guy's thoughts kinda pisses me off." Her eyes return to brown, she starts walking to the door. "I'll tell my party members about it and we'll take care of it." Her thoughts, "I'm curious about the tiger, is it a regular tiger or a bigger tiger."

Lady Bethany sits there with a sad expression, as if shocked beyond words. Though she didn't like Nytri when she came, she felt bad for letting her die in the fire. She had no idea what really happened.

"Wait," Harrington speaks up and Nytri stops. He sighs, "If you do manage to kill the great tiger, please let me have its corpse. I'll pay for that also." He looks down and grin trying to hide it while his thought, "The body of a great tiger is valuable. From how confident she is, it must mean her party can kill it. Silly girl, since I'm your father you'll have to obey and bring me the corpse."

Meanwhile, on a cliff far from the mansion. Eryndor and Lilia are there looking at the mansion. Eryndor has an arrow ready and Lilia keeps cursing it. Kael appears behind them and grabs them by the head and drags them off. Kael brings them back to camp and Kaida has already been tied up into a bundle, she wasn't the only one intending to kill the lord and his family. Kael lectures them on right and wrong but tells them there's a time for everything so some are patient for some reason.

Nytri exits the mansion and passes the guards at the entrance, they look uncomfortable for some reason. The girl who's cry they ignored is alive and the master seems to be affectionate towards her.

Nytri accessed the Nexusphere and speaks with her party, "Guys, I'm done talking with them."

"What did they want?" Lilia speaks, "Should I curse them to have sleepless nights for a year?"

"Tempting," Nytri speaks, "But no. you'll only waste your energy and time with them." She reaches the city, "They asked up to slay a great tiger, I think it's just a big furball and bring its corpse back."

"Well," Eryndor speaks, "You turned them down right?"

"Nah," Nytri speaks, "I kinda want to see what the great tiger is like." Eryndor retorts, "Awww, we're helping the." Nytri chuckles and continues, "Also, the mountain has a path leading to a nation. With it being blocked, the people will suffer more than the nobles."

Kael sounds dissatisfied, "So we're doing this for the people?"

Nytri shakes her head, "Nope, I just want to see the tiger."

Kaida chuckles, "Nytri just wants to help them but is covering it up with her curiosity."

Kael snorts, "Whatever, if they try to take advantage of her I'll grind them to dust."

Nytri has a wry smile, "Let's meet up and see what we're up against." They all agreed and start heading towards the mountain

A few seconds later, they arrive at the mountain path and start to climb it. The move slowly enjoying the breeze on the mountain, there're trees growing around it and a river flowing by the side of the road. They encounter weak monsters along the way, the Azurites kill the monsters because Azurians can't detect the weak monsters. So some Azurians were hit but didn't take any damage.

As the climb the mountain, on the top of the mountain. It has a small lake and the land is lowered as if a little valley or sorts. There's a cave beside the lake and paw prints at the entrance of the cave. Inside the cave, a set of red eyes staring outside.
