"I'm Your God"
At this point, they usually prostrate themselves and kneel on the ground or something. Well, maybe I laid it on a little too thick, considering it is my first time acting as if I'm some type of deity.
"Thank you for dealing with those knights O Great One!" Even though Frasia was not one to believe in any Gods or Deities, she knew when to be grateful and also knew this dark being could kill her and her siblings in a second.
Kneeling on the ground with both knees, Frasia didn't dare lift her head to stare at her savior who was emanating a different type of power she felt wasn't magic. Just being in its vicinity was suffocating her - and she could also feel a slow drain on her magic power, an insignificant amount but over a long time period it could be a problem. Feeling the indescribable mass of his pressure, she forgot to even check on her two little siblings - one of which was injured.
Well, she's just been kneeling there for over a minute, and the atmosphere is getting kind of awkward. If I want them to be my first devout followers in this world, then I should probably try to help them out of their current situation. I need to start by finding a doctor or something to heal that little girl who got kicked earlier.
As Oliver was trying to figure out a way to get Anastasia help, he realized he forgot that he was supposed to be giving the elves the impression that he was some God that saved them!
What type of God would I be if I couldn't even save my believers myself? After absorbing those guys, I came to the conclusion that I can take in life energy from living beings and not just some remnant ghosts. Since life energy is just essentially your energy from living, maybe I could reverse it and give her some to restore her life, like a type of healing. Well, I won't know if I don't try.
After some seconds, Oliver finally came to the decision to try to heal Anastasia himself.
When Frasia sensed a bit of movement from the being in front of her, she thought that maybe the being had decided to take her little sister's life as a price for saving them! Prostrating herself even further, Frasia begged for her sister's life. "Please Great One, Do not take my sister's life but take mine instead! She has not yet got to experience anything good in this Life!" Seeing her plead not working as the being was nearing closer towards Anastasia, she was about to shout even more when she saw part of the being's body strike her sister.
As soon as this happened Frasia readied her magic and was going to strike but Axel shouted at her as she was going to attack! "Wait, sister! Look!"
Anastasia's eyes slowly fluttered open and the blood and bruises on her body began to visibly disappear at a fast rate. Once the quick process finished Anastasia opened her eyes and became alarmed, trying to find the knights that attacked them. When she looked down in front of her and all she found were cracked bones, she thought her sister had saved them with forbidden magic - and immediately got up to check on her.
"Frasia are you alright? You didn't use your life to use forbidden magic did you?" Forbidden magic was magic that always had some type of cost, and though Frasia used to promise she would never use it, Anastasia knew that for family Frasia would do anything.
Ignoring their sister's questions, Frasia and Axel ran up to Anastasia and began to frantically hug her still affected from her earlier condition.
When Frasia was about to give thanks to the great being who saved them, she realized it had disappeared right after it healed Anastasia. Silently in her heart, she thanked the divine being from the bottom of her heart, and subconsciously created a vow in her heart to follow this self-proclaimed God and become one of his believers.
Meanwhile, back in the dimension of darkness, Oliver - now half his size, felt an increase in power that wasn't life essence. It felt as though something deeper inside him had grown. If life energy was like a meal, then this power was the ingredients that make up the meal. The feeling of the increase in this unknown power was exhilarating, but he did not know what caused it or how to get more so he just let it be for now.
So the consumption of healing somebody is currently half my life essence, and in order to maintain my appearance in this new world, I have to have a certain amount of life essence - or else I will get forced out back here, like just now. If I had known all of this, then I would have consumed those siblings alongside the knights. After all, I could eventually find some followers. But from this experience, I did gain two things that are valuable.
The first thing is the knowledge of how life energy and essence works. And the second is that I can put pieces of myself onto people I give my power to. Although now I'm just limited to sharing senses with the little girl without her knowing, in the future I might be able to take complete control over her! In this new world, it's just a big game of chess and these elves are just my starting pieces! I'd call this a successful first day in my journey to taking over the world.
Back in the physical plane at night, inside a small greenhouse with a forest behind it, inside could be seen a trio of elven siblings eating dinner sitting silently all thinking of different things. However, something was peculiar about one of them. On the smallest sibling, a minuscule black and red mark could be seen on the back of her neck, glowing faintly. The pattern of the mark was a hexagram with a skull in the middle of it. Around the hexagram, something was inscribed in some unknown language. If one were to translate it though, it would say one singular word: "Corruption".
