The tension in the room was so thick you could almost feel it, and Vell's words lingered in the air like a storm cloud, heavy and foreboding.
"Alone?" Ada asked, her tone was sharp enough to cut. She leaned against the wall, her arms crossed, and she tapped her boot on the floor. Her braid was unraveling, a testament to her restless pacing. "Regina has been playing games with us since we got here. Dungeon Five is her trap, plain and simple. If you go in alone, you are giving her exactly what she wants."
Vell did not budge. He stood by the window, framed by the crimson glow of the Imperial City's synthetic sunset. "If we all go, she will pick us off one by one. You know how she operates, but if I go in alone, she will put all of her focus on me. That is when you will hit the other dungeons. You will push our ranking higher, and keep her busy."
