Eun-Seong: Why

"Ah-Reum, I am sorry to break it to you… But we have to break up." Eun-Ji says.

Of fvcking course his sister had to ruin everything, but one name stuck out to him. Ah-Reum.

He turned around to see who barged in.

And to his disbelief, it was Au-Reum, the name of the girl he met when she bumped into him.

She stared at him before pushing past Eun-Seong.

"You lied to me. I thought we were over this and that you would actually stay with me!" A tear rolling down the tanned girl's cheek.

And once again he felt that same pull.

'An omega with another omega? Well when your life makes it hard to find a mate due to your sex you get creative with how to respond to it.'

Eun-Seong looks at the young woman standing in front of him yelling explicative after explicative at his older sister.

"Who are you, woman." Eun-Seong's father demands Ah-Reum's identity.

She glares at him and continues angrily yelling.

"Don't you ever come back to me, do you understand. Now that you got your perfect alpha there will be no more of us. I hope you're happy!"

"Little omega, I asked who you are!" Eun-Seong's father booms, angry that he has to repeat himself again.

She looks around and then turns around to leave. My father grabs her arm.

"Father, that isn't an omega." Eun-Ji says holding her belly, a dazed smile on her lips.

He lets go in shock.

"Beta?" His father asks.

Eun-Ji shakes her head no.

"Alpha?" He mutters turning back to the nicely dressed woman in the pants and dress shirt. The long bow tie on her neck draping over her chest.

Eun-Seong could only stare in surprise. He has never seen an alpha woman before.

"Eun-Ji you had an alpha mate who could have helped you. Why did you bring yourself here?" Eun-Seong's dad asks.

"I wanted a man, just like you did daddy. A woman pretending to be what I need isn't enough."

Eun-Seong could imagine nothing more damaging to the alpha's pride than to be rejected by the omega she is with. He felt angry for her. Watching her despondent face as she disassociated from reality frustrated him to no end. Disrespecting an alpha is all fun and games until it is not.

"How could you do this!" He yells. "You had an alpha, and now you even have the gall to disrespect her. I am ashamed that you're even my sister!"

"Oh, please give me a break Eun-Seong, even you have a man. You wouldn't go for a woman, she may have a nice piece, but it doesn't replace a real man—"

She is cut off with a smack from her dad.

"The best you could have done for this family is went out quietly." Their dad says.

"I needed more than what she offered." Eun-Ji tweets.

"Take the alpha to the hospital immediately Eun-Seong."

He drags the alpha with him to his car and buckles her in.

_____

The hospital comes into view as he parks in the parking lot dragging Ah-Reum behind him.

"Greetings, what are you here for today?" The receptionist asks.

His silvery hair dull in the light, eyes devoid of any empathy.

"We have an alpha code." Eun-Seong instructs, pointing to Ah-Reum behind him.

"That girl is an alpha?" Receptionist asks.

"Can you stop gaping and get help!" Eun-Seong yells frustratedly. He's already regretting coming here.

He fishes his hand in her pockets and takes out her ID and passes over his.

"Bamsaek, Ah-Reum? Brown beauty? I mean it checks out."

The doctor rings a bell and then two basic looking doctors approach.

The doctors rush over and take her into an Alpha Safe Room.

"What exactly happened… ah…?" The first doctor asks.

"Kim." Eun-Seong says looking at the alpha in his arms.

"Mr. Kim." The first doctor corrects himself.

"Her omega rejected her and left her for another alpha, but not before hurling some blows to her pride." Eun-Seong says looking through the glass as she rolls herself into a ball and falls over on her side unceremoniously.

"That has to be rough an alpha's state of mind is delicate. Especially with the dwindling population of alphas. Female omegas need something since male alphas would rather male omegas. Perhaps we should create a program and have harems of alpha women who would be useful to women who need to have more babies." The first doctor says.

"Despite her pride being hurt, I doubt she would be too much to handle with her aggression and frustration. But we shouldn't underestimate any damage that we can possibly get. She could bite or scratch." The first doctor cautions the second.

"Or, this is for the better. Let all the women go extinct and men will live without them." The second one says. "A female pair of alpha and omega cannot produce sons because both have the double X chromosome sex. And all eggs must be X chromosomes." The second doctor explains folding his arms.

"It would be better to put her out of her misery." The second doctor turns to the first and they both enter the room with her.

She sits up quickly and her face morphs into aggression. She bares her teeth in a grit. Her eyes flaming orbs. Her red hair making her look bigger due to how frizzy the curls have gotten.

Eun-Seong enters the room just as she pounces on the two alphas.

The get into an awkward tangle where she grasps one and throws him to the wall in a fit of rage.

The other doctor starts to back away slowly as does Eun-Seong.

"She is pretty strong." The first doctor mutters.

Eun-Seong's eyes glance over at the second doctor who was thrown to the wall.

He seemed alright, but he had a huge welt on his forehead.

The second doctor ran out of the room, wobbling in the process. He slams face first into the door before running out. The first doctor following as she got ready to attack again.

"Wait!" Eun-Seong yells as the first doctor closes the door. His legs were frozen to the spot with fear. Body lacking a sense of self preservation.

He begins trying the door only to see that it was locked. He was locked inside with a beast of a woman.

She stands to her full height of 183cm, about six feet tall.

Compared to his skinny twink arse? She is a whole fudging head taller than him. He doesn't even stand a chance if alpha men couldn't beat her.

'Is this how I die?' Eun-Seong thinks.

Ah-Reum gives him a disgusted glance and turns back heading into the corner of the room.

Eun-Seong looks at the glass, the doctors stare inside scared. A male most likely omega, nurse pressing an ice pack against the second doctors head.

All three look inside.

Perhaps they were expecting Eun-Seong to die. He will never know.

But once they see he is still alive they send in the nurse, perhaps hoping to see she wouldn't attack omegas.

Both alphas push the omega nurse inside.

The meek man gulps when he finds his balance. The two doctors wave their hands shooing him in.

The gun rests in his hands as he lifts it up and points.

It fires with a loud bang and just as quickly, there was a bullet hole in the wall and Au-Reum was nowhere to be seen.

"Wusses." Her voice dark, smooth like rich chocolate. A hint of malice could be heard.

She leaps down from the ceiling and dashes towards the omega as he fumbles with the gun and prepares to shoot again.

The nurse takes a shot… and she dodges the bullet in close proximity. Almost as if she knows how to defy the laws of physics.

She snatches the gun from his hand and points it to the glass shooting until the bullet proof glass shattered.

And that show of action was enough to put Eun-Seong's omega soul into heat.

She turns and unloads the magazine of the gun and takes it apart with such speed it is parts and gunpowder on the floor.

"You know, this is the first time I have actually been allowed to be free to do this type of stuff." She looks at her fingernails, her perfect manicure giving them the appearance of claws as she holds out her fingers in a way of displaying them for the unwise eye to see.

"But now that I am acting out, surely you wouldn't mind me paying back the favor. You wanted me dead right? Don't worry, I will make this quick." She says with a smile.

'Who is she and where did the old sniveling omega-like girl go?'

And to top it all off…

Eun-Seong's memory finally came back to him.

____________

It was in the second semester of the school year around the time of Christmas.

A girl with tanned skin, frizzy auburn hair and bright sunburst eyes from the grade below his approached him with a lovely handmade letter and a thin, white jade bracelet spinning slowly on a baby blue ribbon hanging out of the envelope.

"Hi, my name is Ah-Reum what is yours?" She says with a bright smile showing of two rows of perfect pearly whites.

"My name is Eun-Seong, what is this for?" Eun-Seong looks down at the bracelet sliding it on.

It smells like cinnamon and vanilla spiced sweet milk.

The girl puts her clasped hands at her chest in anticipation.

The letter says: "I like you" in beautiful penmanship to the point that he was flattered.

He looks at the younger girl who's auburn curls fall over her face. She brushes it away with a deft hand behind a pointed, elven-like ear.

He turns and walks away from the girl taking the note and the bracelet.

The girl, crestfallen, leaves quietly.

At lunch, Eun-Seong gives the letter to his friends, Dohyun, Minhyun and Charlie.

"Ew, a girl gave this to you?" Dohyun says dropping the letter.

He didn't tell them about the bracelet he hid under his sweater sleeve that slid delicately over his wrist.

"What is her name? Is she in our class?" Charlie asks, his hair and skin pale as snow. White eyelashes flutter at him.

"No, I don't think she is even in our grade." Eun-Seong responds. "Her name is Ah-Reum."

____________

He blinks back smelling his own heat scent of strawberry covered chocolates fresh in the air, the omega nurse crumpled to the ground and the sound of the alarm going off.

Slowly, he makes it to the window and carefully hops over. The sensation of landing on his feet sending shivers down his spine.

He follows after the scent of jasmine, clary sage and ylang-ylang. He gets a hit of something else in her scent but chooses to ignore it falling the predominant scents.

The scent takes him outside to where the military is outside trying to get a shot in and she is with impeccable speed taking them out one-by-one.

"Stop!" Eun-Seong rasps, voice hoarse from being unused.

The entire battle field comes to a silence as they watch him approach her in her heightened state.

"Stop." He urges.

She purses her lips as if perplexed just as someone takes a shot at her the fight was started all over again. She tore through the ranks of men and cut them down till no one was standing.

His eye sight was getting hazy and he passes out.

When he wakes up he is inside of a simple and clean room, nothing looked out of place and everything smelt just like her, except for the bed sheets which smelled surprisingly like magnolia, if that even makes sense.

From what he can assume is that he is in her house.

Questions fill his mind each time he blinks trying to confirm if this is real.

'How did I get here so fast?'

'Am I dreaming?'

Such were the questions.

The smell of bacon and eggs made his mouth water.

His urges came kicking in… he needed to nest.

Fighting two instincts he came to the illogical conclusion that building a nest would be right this moment and push down his hunger for comfort.

He opened the closet and pulled out as much clothes as he could that had a scent on it. He then pulled everything to the bed and climbed into it tidying the pile of clothes with a sense of responsibility.

He pauses while he nests, he thinks about the past. He lost that bracelet the day after he told his friends about her. But there it was sitting in a jewelry box on her desk. A fancy perfume bottle of magnolia perfume also sits on the desk which is a lovely shade of purple. Then his now ex-boyfriend's face haunts his mind.

'What am I going to do without you?'

Ah-Reum kicks open the door holding a platter of oatmeal, bacon and eggs.

"Sorry, my mom isn't here today. I would have had you meet her, Mr. Kim." She says formally.

"Go sit on the blanket." She orders.

He follows sitting up in his nest as he accepts the food.

"Why did you… take me here?" Eun-Seong asks between bites.

The food was surprisingly to his liking giving him reminders of when Nicholas made him breakfast. Of course she didn't know that his favorite food for breakfast was chocolate pancakes, but the taste of the chocolate oats was a decent replacement.

"I didn't think leaving you with those alphas while you are in heat would be very safe."

"What makes you any safer? You're an alpha too last I checked."

"Well, I can control myself, unlike your boyfriend." She spits.

"Gasp, how dare you bring Nicholas into this!" He exclaims aghast.

"I can say whatever the fvck I want." She lashes out standing up and walking over to her desk.

"What happened to that quiet, omega-like girl you were?" Eun-Seong asks. "You know that betas hate unruly alphas."

"What, you mean when I was younger?" She asks answering the first statement.

Eun-Seong nods.

She rolls her eyes and puckers her lips before licking them slightly.

"How about this… People, they change, they don't stay the same forever."

"Was it because of what my friends did to you?" Eun-Seong asks scarfing down his food.

Ah-Reum scoffs lightly.

"Was it because I liked you that you had to ruin my life? Make me have to transfer to feel safe?"

His eyes waver under the sharp stare of Ah-Reum.

"Look that is not my fault. I didn't know my friends would do what they did."

She huffs and then says, "If I didn't fight back they would have killed me. I did nothing, they made me unruly, and it is those betas who can't give an alpha a break and me being female made it all the more easier for those two alpha's to want to put me down."

"But still."

"Still what? They would would have killed me either way. I would rather go out knowing that I fought rather than be silenced."

Eun-Seong pulls closer to Ah-Reum. He can't seem to understand why he all of a sudden is so needy. He's never needed an alpha during his heat before.

He looked down at the alpha's pants. And much like her response to his heat she wasn't physically showing arousal.

Now he was curious, what did her special parts look like. Do female alpha's have penises or something entirely different?

"Oh, come on, surely there is some type of want in you. You can't be completely shut off. I mean, you did it with my sister. Perhaps you could help me?" Eun-Seong, suggests flirtatiously.

"I thought your sister was supposed to be my one and only that is why I had sex with her, and no I am not helping you." She folds her arms.

Eun-Seong whines before falling back into his nest and flopping into a pair of worn jeans.

Lying on his side he looks around her room.

Second place medals, a small bookcase. A desk with light sage green paint. The walls are a cream color and decorated with decorative vines. A LED strip set to a lovely periwinkle purple runs at the top of the room giving the room a mystical feeling.

'The room does smell like her.' Eun-Seong notes when he learns that this is actually her room.

"How did you get the military off of your back?" Eun-Seong asks after a while of silence.

"Hmm?" Ah-Reum hums as she brushes her hair and begins to braid it. "They gave up the moment I cut their forces down in half a second."

"How did you do that?"

"Do what?" She asks as she finishes braiding her hair into a big singular braid and ties the bottom with a silk scrunchie.

"Do that thing where you move super fast?" He questions perching on the side of his nest.

"Why should I tell you?" She says smoothing down her edges with water and wrapping her now thigh length braid around her head as she puts a bonnet on.

"Fine, don't tell me." He huffs.

She smiles to herself an pulls her laptop from out of a drawer.

"What's your major?" Eun-Seong asks taking the food and wolfing it down with an attitude.

"I'm a combined astrology/ physics major and chemical engineering minor. How about you?"

He puts a hand to his mouth as he swallows he puts on a bright smile on his face.

"You must be some kind of nerd then. I'm a business major and law minor." He says introducing his major proudly.

"Ah… Must be rich kid energy." She teases looking over her shoulder. "You planning on being a lawyer as well?"

Eun-Seong sucks his teeth and rolls his eyes finishing up the plate of food.

Something about her was scratching in all the right places and maybe it was just him, but he was starting to enjoy the banter.

He listens as she types. The keyboard keys clacking rapidly as she finishes up her homework.

Eun-Seong doesn't know when, but he fell asleep. The sound of dishes clacking and the smell of fried chicken calls to him.

Mouthwatering and eyes half awake he exits her room and finds himself in a nice, quaint little apartment. An African patterned blanket over the couch and in the kitchen there is a carbon copy of Ah-Reum, but two heads shorter with larger doe-shaped eyes, darker skin and curlier hair who looks like she could be Ah-Reum's sister. She too has an hourglass shaped body, but a fuller chest and a bigger set of hips.

"Ah-Reum, now who could dis be?" The woman says in a heavy Nigerian accent.

"I forgot, Ma." She says putting a hand to her head. "This is Kim Eun-Seong-ssi, I brought him home over the weekend to stay for a while."

"During his heat?" She asks suspicious causing Ah-Reum to sneeze in excitement.

"Ma! Don't make it sound as if we are doing something dirty." She sputters.

"Oh, so we are going to ignore how you did me not too long ago?" Eun-Seong jokes as he leans over the counter, hips oscillating slowly left and right playfully. "And I thought we would be home alone for longer."

"Ah," Ah-Reum's mama blinks. "Perhaps a little old lady like me is not ready to know about her daughters love life." Ah-Reum's mama says still in shock.

"Stop your lies Eun-Seong, you are traumatizing my mama." Ah-Reum says hitting his shoulder with a tenderness that made him feel he was getting hit by a barrage of kitten paws.

This softer side of Ah-Reum was equally attractive.

________

The crackling of the chicken in the air fryer ceases after fifteen minutes. Eun-Seong is now wearing a long T-shirt courtesy of Au-Reum so that he can walk around the apartment. On his bottom he is wearing a bikini bottom that she swore she never wore and that it was a birthday gift from her other mother.

'So her family line are all women. How interesting. I wonder where her mother is.'

Eun-Seong sits on the padded dining chair and rests his head on his arms.

And perhaps it is because he is realizing this now, must be because his regrets are high. Would he have her as his alpha if he chose to date her in the past rather than being stuck in this awkward phase?
