Bloodline

As I stepped through thr doors to the manor mother came sprinting at me picking me up and hugging me. She looked me up and down multiple times.

"I've missed you honey how was Mara is she still the most sarcastic person in existence!" Mother said as we walked down the hallway.

"I don't know honestly I barely talked to her I spent most of my time with Theresa she is beyond fun to play with I want to see her again soon." As I said this my mothers face grew dim.

" well… that might be difficult your father told me and dread that he enlisted you in the military and put you in a leadership position directly under the swords for a force he also told us well rather forced me that I was to train you until you were at complete mastery and asked dread to train you to complete mastery so you won't be allowed to leave here for years it looks like so seeing Theresa again might be difficult." Mother said rage filling her eyes.

"But you don't have to listen father hurt me multiple times imagine what will happen if I have to serve directly under him can't you say no?"

"I have my reasons but that's not something I can tell you yet so you don't need to worry about it now head to the library I will meet you in there I just need to grab something from the vault."

Once I reached the library I waited for what felt like hours until mother entered with a hollow black sword filled with flames.

"The look of amazement on your face is adorable it makes sense you've never seen this before this is the sword of eternal war wielded by the goddess of war only people who bear her blood can actually use it if someone else tries to it's just a really sharp unbreakable sword here take it." Mother held out the sword to me and not expecting anything I took it. Immediately after I grabbed it the flames in the center went from orange to blue from calm to an inferno the black blade disappeared replaced by a raging inferno of blue flames.

"You aren't just the granddaughter of knowledge you're the granddaughter of war as well and to top off this cocktail of divinity you're the daughter of the sin of wrath which is me." I stared at mother star struck knowledge was one thing but war and wrath as well it was complete insanity but I could tell by the faint smile on her face that she wasn't lying.

"However when you were born the attribute of wrath and the mark of war merged together into one so you are a special case since you are the first person ever to have two marks and a sin and have a mark and sin merge the first thing we are going to do is teach you to control the war goddess powers first because those are the most volatile and if you lose control let's just say there won't be much of anything left."

"What does that mean that sounds bad?"

"Don't worry about it now can I have that sword back before you burn my library down please." I looked at my hand where the sword was and saw that the carpet was beginning to burn. I frantically handed her the sword and it immediately stopped burning.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean to burn the carpet."

"Eh it's fine it's just a carpet now come to the center of the library." Mother said walking towards the center as I followed once there she cast multiple barriers around me.

"There's one thing we have to get you to control and that's the form you take when you fully embrace your war goddess mark which I call overheat while it doesn't drain you to use unless you have complete and I mean complete mastery over it it's dangerous to everyone around you so it's best to not try and keep it active perpetually."

"How do I use it though how do I enter this state?"

"It's simple you need to shatter your mana core think of the mark of war as a well spring of infinite power your mana core limits that power once shattered you will be able to use that power however you like."

"But shattering your mana core kills you that's how I killed that one person when father summoned me to the battlefield the first time don't make me do that."

"Nyssa I won't let you die I will guide you through it however long it takes." Mother said reaching her hand through the barriers grabbing mine.

"This will take at least two years Nyssa I need to safely shatter your core and make sure your body can regulate the power correctly are you ready?" I squeezed mother's hand fear setting in.

"…yes"

As I said this I felt an unquantifiable amount of man's course into me my heart began to feel as if it was burning and only grew hotter once my heart felt like it was being shredded apart inside my body the torrent of mana stopped but the unbearable pain didn't I couldn't scream I couldn't function the pain was too great I had a death grip on mother's hand.

"I'm going to slowly push your mana core over the edge now." Mother said softly I felt a tiny flow of mana begin to course through me each bit amplifying the pain ten fold this went on for hours the pain only ever getting worse.

"Nyssa honey it's time" I could barely make out her words the world hazy because of the pain the tears flowing from my eyes then I felt it my heart being shattered into an infinite amount of pieces the pain was too much the world went black and I fainted. When I woke up I was still in excruciating pain but most of it was gone as I sat up the pain began to dull I felt taller and stronger I looked at my hair and it was obvious that I had grown I had to have been out for quite some time how long was I is the question. I sat up out of my bed and looked at myself in the mirror I was nearly two times taller I'm at least four feet tall now. I left my room looking for mother yelling her name until I felt a familer shadowy presence behind me.

"Hi dread" speaking now I heard my voice changed ever so slightly.

"Good you're still sharp as ever glad to see you awake and happy third fourth and fifth birthday you will find three new weapons as gifts in your room's armory." Dread said same as ever emotionless and flat tone but I could hardly believe her three years I was asleep for three years.

"Fifth birthday are you sure it would explain a lot but really?"

"Yes you're now five years old and nine months as for your growth your mother took the liberty of accelerating your bodies growth with time magic."

"… but why that doesn't make sense."

"She is afraid that if she doesn't accelerate your growth now your inability to age will set in and leave you stuck as a child forever."

"Stuck.. as a child she can accelerate as much as she needs speaking of mother where is she?"

"She is currently in the capital taking care of a few things now if you would follow me there is someone here who would like to see you." Dread says walking away towards the training hall my stomach dropped hoping it wasn't father as we approached the training hall I could see torrents of blue and purple lightning striking violently and I could hear the immense strength of wind and heavy strikes almost as if there was mountains falling one after another. As we turned the corner I recognized Mara and Theresa locked in a sparring match Theresa was outrageously strong especially for her age but Mara was clearly on a completely different level it was clear Mara was trying to get Theresa to improve in close combat. As I watched the match Theresa turned to kick her mother and we locked eyes immediately I saw her wings form and she launched herself at me.
