Chapter 20. 

"Mia!!!" Richard shouted the moment the gun was shot.

Mia was terrified, her eyes shut tightly with her hands covering her ears. However, when she felt a familiar presence around her, she realized that the gunshot was meant for someone else.

Opening her eyes, the man who had pointed the gun at her earlier was unconscious on the floor in a pool of blood.

"Argh!" She was covered in shock and Richard hugged her immediately.

"Everything is fine, Mia. I'm here for you" Richard muttered. He was angry when he saw that Mia's clothes had been torn but he managed to keep his emotions in check.

Earlier, when Richard left Kendrick and headed to the location, he met Anabel and the bodyguards on their way and they all arrived at the same time. One of the bodyguards shot the man who threatened Mia.

When Mia felt Richard's presence and released a loud breath, she fainted.

"Mia! Can you hear me? Mia!"

"Young Mistress!"
