The moon was low in the sky as it was almost the crack of dawn when Li An finally emerged from the mouth of the abandoned mine. Her clothes were in tatters, streaked with dirt and dust, but her step was steady, and her gaze unwavering. The moonlight of evening bathed her form as she walked into the open, her silhouette framed by the towering cliffs. Her long hair was loose, tangled, and wild, but her body bore no wounds—a result of her resilience and the inhuman healing ability she had gained from her battle. Still, the weight of her journey clung to her like a second skin.

As she emerged from the mines, she detected a few soldiers guarding outside the mines behind barricades. They held their auto reloading bows and rapid shot crossbows at the ready. She noticed that a few Meraks corpse lay on the ground near the barrier the soldiers created. Meanwhile, not too far from the barricade is a small mountain of Merak corpses burning.
