Chapter 96 Book 3 Program

Two days had passed since Li An after the incident with Long Hai on the streets of the capital. The capital, a place that once teemed with intrigue and hidden opportunities now felt dull and uneventful to her sharp mind. The novelty of imperial gardens and the endless chatter of court politics had worn off, leaving her restless. As she sat by the window of her small chamber, watching the gray winter clouds drift lazily across the sky, her mind wandered.

Her hand toyed absently with a brush, the ink pooling on the edge of the paper she had been scribbling on earlier. It was an intricate pattern of runes, abstract and meaningless to anyone but herself. She sighed, longing for a challenge that could engage her mind.

For someone who did not understand what she was writing, they would think that those were random scribbles of a bored young lady.
