The soft rustle of footsteps on cobblestones announced the arrival of Gu Shan Nia, the 7th princess, and her maidservant. The night sky moonlight dappled the lush greenery of Li An's courtyard, casting silvery highlights over the serene space. Li An, seated beneath a blooming plum tree, raised her head at the sound. Her sharp, young eyes narrowed slightly as the princess approached, her expression carefully neutral.

"Greetings, Princess Jing'an," Gu Shan Nia began, her voice honeyed and deferential. She was dressed impeccably in a silk gown embroidered with lotus patterns, her hair adorned with golden pins. Her demeanor was humble, almost excessively so, as she inclined her head. "I have come to offer my sincerest apologies for the misunderstanding we've had this morning."

Li An's lips curved faintly in a polite smile. "Cousin is too kind. There is no need for such gestures."
