The dust of stillness settled once more over the chamber as the massive six-armed humanoid statue ceased its relentless assault and returned to its pedestal, resuming the silent pose of a guardian. Its eyes dimmed from an incandescent gold to the lifeless hue of polished obsidian. Cracks along its surface pulsed once, then sealed like scars healed over time.

Li An, breathing lightly but not out of fatigue, wiped the speck of dust that had settled on her sleeve. Her figure stood unyielding, her composure regal despite the battle she had just endured.

The grand temple chamber fell into silence again, save for the soft murmur of energy receding into the walls.
