Adrian's obsession

Adrian sat in his study, unable to concentrate. His mind was consumed by images of Jasmine Walker: her guilty expression in the parking lot, her curiosity, and the way she acted like a child. He recalled how inviting she was that night in the presidential suite.

Adrian dropped his jade pen on the smoothly polished marble table and stood up to pour himself a drink. Feeling restless, he walked to the large balcony, admiring the city's night view. His head was still filled with thoughts of Jasmine Walker.

Over the years, he had been with many women, but none had driven him this crazy before. He took a deep breath, then another sip.

He never liked inexperienced women; he felt they were a waste of time. Yet, he found himself drawn to Jasmine Walker.

Adrian took his phone and scrolled through contacts. "Boss!" Henry answered on the first ring.

"I need information on Jasmine Walker," he said.

"Okay, boss. I'll have it delivered to you first thing tomorrow morning," Henry replied.

Adrian cut the call, his mind drifting back to his previous thoughts.

Jasmine made sure she arrived at work early that day. Michael was the new CEO, and she couldn't afford to leave a bad impression.

"Ashley, you're here," Jasmine said, sitting at her desk beside Ashley's.

"Ahh...yes. Couldn't afford to be a minute late," Jasmine added.

She really wanted to work hard in the time she had left. She planned to save a lot of money to leave behind for Rose and her parents.

Their other colleagues started arriving in groups.

"Jasmine, you have to deliver this to the CEO's office," Benno, the head of Jasmine's department, said.

Jasmine took the private elevator, knocked on the door, and waited for confirmation to enter.

With a racing heart, she walked toward the table, far away from the door.

"Here are the required files for today's meeting, CEO," she said, dropping the files on the marble table.

"You don't have to be so formal, Jasmine. We know each other," Michael chuckled.

"We've only met once," Jasmine said nervously.

"Well, I saved you," Michael smiled.

"Thanks," Jasmine said. "I'll repay you anyway I can. In the future perhaps."she added.

"The future is too far," Michael said. "I have a favor to ask."

"Anything," Jasmine responded wholeheartedly.

"My father is hosting a party to announce his retirement. He says it's compulsory I bring a plus one," Michael explained.

"You want me to..." Jasmine started.

"Yes, I want you to," Michael said with a wide smile.

"Or are you going back on your word?" he asked.

"I'll go," Jasmine agreed.

"Great," Michael said, grabbing his keys. "We need to get you a dress."

Adrian woke up to meet the beautiful chandelier in the room's ceiling. He held his throbbing head, feeling the effects of yesterday's alcohol.

After taking a bath, he strode downstairs for breakfast.

"Good morning, CEO Adrian. This is the information we could gather on Jasmine Walker," Henry said, handing over the iPad.

Adrian stared at the file intently until his gaze landed on her workplace.

"She works for Xixi," his brows furrowed.

"How is it that Jasmine works in Michael's company?" Adrian wondered.

Henry's facial expressions were no different from Adrian's.

"That's Michael's company," Henry said.

She lived in a family of four and loved baking. Nothing else was special in the information provided.

But why did she feel so mysterious?

"Investigate further," Adrian said, clearly unsatisfied with the results.
