Berry sat amongst the group of scientists, all looking down at him with shared curiosity.
He felt anxious and he slouched in his seat to try and make himself smaller.
The air was thick with tension and everyone was on edge due to what was witnessed yesterday.
"Your name" One of the scientist asked, bringing out the clear slab filled with purple glowing digits.
He was a man of average height, a human, with brown wavy hair and deep black eyes.
"B..berry" he stuttered, feeling the weight of their stares crush down on him.
"Full name" The scientist said again, this time with mild irritation.
"I…I don't remember"
"Hm…fine then, how old are you?"
"I…also don't really know, 19, um…20 I guess" Berry said, trying hard to recall his age before he turned into a Rune.
This only fueled the scientist's irritation, "this is pointless", he muttered in frustration.
Berry instinctively looked down at his feet, feeling tired and cold and maybe a little hungry.
One of the other scientists spoke up, he was a dragon, with silver horns that stretched above his head and long sky blue hair with unique gold patterns on his skin, even his face. He was handsome and tall too.
He had a slightly kind expression on his face, he didn't seem as hostile as the human.
"Now now Asher, let's be patient, we've barely even started" he said with a slight playful tone.
The human scientist, Asher, huffed in annoyance and rolled his eyes. The dragon chuckled and walked to Berry, "Okay then, little pink Rune, my name is Sepehr" he said with a friendly look.
Berry eased up a bit, sensing that the dragon was not a threat but he still kept his guard up.
When Sepehr saw this he smiled, knowing he was getting through to the Rune, "Okay so you don't remember much correct?".
"Yes"
"Okay then, do you know why we called you here?"
"About yesterday" Berry said, sounding unsure.
"Well yes but there is something we found out yesterday" Sepehr started, looking at the other scientists, as if asking if he should inform Berry.
Before anyone could continue further, the door opened and the aura shifted.
Within the very short time, Berry had become familiar with this aura.
"Ah Your Majesty, we were just about to start" Sepehr said with a wide grin.
They seem to be friends, Berry thought as he took note of how Sepehr seemed to not be intimidated by Caelum.
The other scientists moved back, clearing the road for Caelum to walk through.
Berry felt uncomfortable, he shifted in his seat, feeling like he should hide somewhere.
Caelum walked to him, his large frame towering over the small Rune, his face was expressionless as usual but he did not seem to be hostile or irritated.
Berry looked up at him but he was not strong enough to hold his gaze so he looked away and he swore that when he did, he heard a small chuckle come out from Caelum but it was too little to be sure.
The place was quiet before Caelum spoke in a plain voice, "Did you rest well?".
The question took Berry by surprise, a damn dragon asking a Rune if they rested well?? Wow, maybe the world really is a better place.
"Y..yes" he answered softly.
"Hm, Did you eat before coming here?"
Berry wondered if he should tell the truth but he didn't want to get on anyone's bad side so he just shook his head.
"Use your words" Caelum said in a commanding voice, almost making Berry flinch.
"N…no Your Majesty"
Everywhere went quiet again, only the sounds of machines could be heard.
He's so mean, Berry thought, he was still shaken up by the command and unknowingly, he had kept his face in a small frown, a slight pout on his lips.
Caelum's eyes narrowed on the Rune, he looked at him intently, before speaking up, "Get up, let's go" he said, turning around and leaving.
Berry barely had time to process his words, he looked at the scientists, as if asking for clarification, but even they were confused. He just stood up, adjusting his clothes and walking after Caelum quickly.
He followed the dragon's large frame, feeling slightly intimated and also tiny.
He passed some more scientists and some other dragons, giving him either confused or skeptical looks.
After a few moments of walking, they got to a black door, Caelum pushed it, he turned back, stepping to the side and gesturing for Berry to go inside.
Berry swallowed nervously and walked inside the room, expecting some type of war machine that would shred him to pieces or some dragon life source he would be sacrificed to. This is it world
.
It's empty
It was just some type of dining room, a small table and some chairs around it, that was it.
He walked in and Caelum followed, closing the door behind them.
Berry stood awkwardly, not knowing what to do next, he just clutched the hem of his hoodie and looked around nervously.
"Sit down" Caelum commanded, holding a chair out for him. Berry widened his eyes slightly but sat down like he was instructed to.
Caelum sat across him, his eyes fixed on the pink Rune.
Berry looked around, noticing the small details, the lights dangling from the ceiling, the smooth white design and the black tables and chairs.
A boring room, He thought.
There was another black door at the farther end and as soon as he noticed it, the door opened. Some dragons coming out, holding trays of food.
They dropped it on the table carefully, bowing at Caelum and looking at Berry weirdly, some girls even gave him death glares.
He just looked away, afraid and shy. After they set the table, they left and shut the door, leaving him alone with the dragon royalty.
Caelum opened the plates, revealing the delicious food in it, filled delicacies that Runes can only dream of.
Wow, Berry drooled at the sight, his anxiety temporary forgotten at the presence of food.
Caelum presented the food to him, "Eat", he said looking at straight at Berry.
The small Rune felt shocked at the offer or…command, he looked at Caelum as if seeking for a confirmation, at least wanting the dragon to repeat himself so he would know if he heard right but Caelum did not.
Berry decided to just go with it, he served himself a small portion of food, not wanting to look greedy.
He ate slowly, Hm so good, he hummed and took more bites.
Wait! What if he poisoned it.
He almost spat the food out at the thought, he was so hungry he didn't think, is he gonna die?.
"I didn't poison it" Caelum said, looking unimpressed.
Berry froze, *Can he read my mind?*
"No I cannot read your mind, it's written all over your face" Caelum said again, looking at the Rune with a slight smirk gracing his expressionless face.
Berry almost wanted to fold in his seat, he swallowed the food in his mouth and looked around nervously.
He pause again before trying again, *Um…Hello, Mind test 1, 2, 1, 2, hello?*.
"Hi"
