"I…I'm sorry, I'm fine"
Now I remember why Caelum banned me from sugary foods, thank God there were no other rogues nearby, they would have gone feral.
Ezra reached out to stroke Berry's hair softly, "are you sure? You gave us quite the scare back there".
Berry nodded quickly, not wanting anyone to worry, "yeah I'm sure, everything is fine now, thanks to the doctor".
Berry had been taken to a small room with a small bed, they had a doctor that gave him a concoction, and within a few minutes he was already feeling like himself again.
When this happened the first time, the scientists barely knew what to do, but here…it seemed like this doctor was experienced in this…how weird.
"Good…thank goodness you're okay…" Enid said, standing by the side of the bed and looking down at Berry with concern, "…The Preacher will be here soon, you can finish you tour later but for now all you have to do is rest".
Berry felt somewhat bad that he had been careless and had caused them trouble barely an hour of coming here. He whispered in soft voice, "I'm sorry for causing you trouble, I was reckless".
Seer immediately cut in, "No! It's out fault, we gave you the treat".
"No! I knew what would happen if I ate it and I was reckless, I didn't look after my own health and I caused you all so much trouble, please do not be offended, it won't happen again" Berry apologized sincerely.
Seer sighed, knowing that it was no use in arguing with him, "fine then, but please rest, like Enid said The Preacher will be here soon, we don't want him seeing you in this state".
Berry nodded and watched as they walked out of the room, they closed the wood-like door behind them, leaving him alone.
His eyes looked around the room, some strange markings drawn on the wall and some strange artifacts sitting on the table. Everything around here was foreign, it made him feel unsettled but relaxed at the same time.
He felt a bit cold now and he lifted the blanket over him, snuggling under the covers.
Caelum
Once again the dragon's name popped up in his mind, maybe in the midst of solitude, he sought the warm of the king. Or maybe he was just going mad.
If Caelum were here, he would have stopped me from eating it…this wouldn't have happened.
I miss him
He could admit it now, he did miss the dragon, his face but the irony of It all was that he was the one who sent him away in the first place now he longed for him. How pathetic, what am I even thinking? Urgh!.
I am here to see The Preacher and that is what I should be focusing on.
Simple
No Dragons.
He looked back at the door, wondering when someone would walk in and tell him that the man was here. This is taking so long.
He closed his eyes, maybe if he slept he would awaken to the presence of the man. He was frustrated and tired, wanting to get over with it already.
But he didn't have to wait too long.
"Such an impatient child"
His eyes opened and he jolted upwards as he heard the voice, it was chilling to say the least, it was deep and hoarse but at the same time it sounded like the voice of a thousand needles hovering over his flesh. What the he-
"I've been waiting for you Berry"
He could not see anyone, it was like the voice was coming from the walls of the room itself, it was like the room was echoing in his head.
"W…Where are you?" he managed to stutter out, looking around frantically for a figure…but he found none.
"Do not be afraid child, I am the one you have been waiting for"
He swallowed and inhaled deeply, trying to calm his racing heart but it wouldn't stop beating rapidly.
"Enid said you knew the answers…the answers to all my questions" he said with a shaky voice.
"Indeed I do, I knew the world before it was created and I know the world in it's end"
"How do you know that? And I thought you were a man? Where is your body? Why do I only hear your voice?"
"Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! So many questions child, but no worries, I will give you all the answers"
"It is true…I do have a body, I am a man"
"Then where are you? I want to see who I am talking to…" Berry said, gathering his courage "…I did not come here to listen to a mere voice, I came to see a man that could tell me who I am, and who I was before I became what I am, so please…show yourself".
The room went quiet for a moment before a dark chuckle erupted, then it went quiet, then a hum, "Hmm…bold, as you ought to be".
"Very well, stand up"
Berry swallowed nervously before hesitantly obeying, he removed the covers from over him and got down from the bed and tried to stand firm.
"Go outside, do not speak to anyone, only listen to my voice and follow my instructions"
He obeyed, going out of the room. He was quickly bombarded by Ezra and Enid, all asking questions about his health, "are you okay?" "you're supposed to be resting" they said with concern.
Berry turned away from them, not speaking to them, they were confused for a moment but Seer piped up with an amused voice, "he will not answer you now…he is going to meet The Preacher".
They immediately backed away, their eyes lighting up in excitement, "finally" Enid said.
"But where is he though?" Ezra asked a bit confused.
"He established a mind link with him, now he is leading him to the scared place, The Preacher can only do this with the chosen one"
"The sacred place?" Enid asked with wide eyes, "isn't that the only place where he reveals his true form?"
"Yes, he wants Berry to meet him for who he truly is" Seer said with a smile, "Berry is not like us, he would not meet him with his human form like he always does with us, he wants them to establish a connection of divinity from the first meeting".
"Wow" Ezra exclaimed and watched as Berry began to move.
Berry followed the voice, telling him to go down the stairs, he followed and got to the bottom of the cave where a huge symbol was drawn at the middle of the floor.
"Step in the middle of the symbol, on the small circle"
Berry felt his blood pressure rise and he felt more afraid than ever but he knew he had to do this, to get the answers he wanted, he put on his face of bravery and stepped on the circle.
