The first few hours at Elysion were a blur of activity. Xu Qianqian, despite her exhaustion, moved with purpose, directing the survivors to their designated zones.
The base was bustling—some people were crying, others were tending to the injured, and a few simply sat in shock, trying to process the horrors they had escaped.
As early as 5:00am Qianqian finally gathered all the survivors together.
Qianqian stood before the gathered survivors in the main plaza of Elysion, her voice clear and firm despite the exhaustion gnawing at her. The group, a mix of gratitude and apprehension etched on their faces, listened intently.
"This is Elysion, your sanctuary," she began, her gaze sweeping over them. "But it is not a charity. Survival here requires effort, cooperation, and responsibility. Each of you will start with 100 points as a welcome gift, but beyond that, you'll have to earn your keep."
The crowd murmured among themselves, but Qianqian continued without pause.
"To rent a hostel room, it will cost 100 points. Each room houses four people, so you'll need to form groups. There is a cafeteria on the ground floor of each hostel, open from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Meals are not free—your points will cover the cost. If you want to eat, you'll need to work."
She took a step forward, her expression growing sterner. "There are rules. If your room is on a specific floor, you are only allowed to use the facilities on that floor.
For example, if you're assigned to the third floor, the bathroom, kitchen, and communal areas on that floor are the only ones you may use. Any violation of this rule will result in point deductions. This is to maintain order and fairness."
The weight of her words settled over the group as the reality of the situation began to sink in.
Rui Feng lead them to the Office building where they were all registered and given their cards. The point card have an age limit, only those 16 and above were given.
After they were registered and given their cards, most of the survivors chose to rent out hostels. Qianqian had Butler Feng and her mother prepare food for the survivors.
Some fortunate survivors had things of value to exchange for points, while some didn't. Those without much points immediately started looking for jobs they could do to earn points.
"Remember," Qianqian emphasized as they began forming groups, "your points are your currency here. You'll earn more by contributing to the base—whether through manual labor, cooking, cleaning, or specialized skills like farming or mechanics. Everyone has a role to play."
She noticed Lin Mei helping the Chen siblings and He Xiaoran settle in. Lin Mei caught her eye and nodded in silent understanding. They would discuss arrangements for the orphans later.
Once the initial group was settled, Qianqian went straight to the control center. Wei Jian and the rest were there already.
Qianqian couldn't help but be shocked at the amount of destruction happening beyond the base. She knew quite well that this was different from her previous life, but her only companion in this was no where to be found.
"Wei Jian, Long Hao", she called out, "Keep your eyes on our surroundings, if a monster or zombie is spotted, take them out."
Wei Jian nodded in agreement," Sure thing,go out there, they need you more."
Qianqian headed out after making sure everything was sorted in there, she felt so grateful to them. She was heading over to the quarantine zone to check up on the people when she was stopped by Xiaoyu.
"Hey,wait up", Xiaoyu called out running towards her sister.
Qianqian paused and waited," What's wrong?"
"We need more hostels and something for the Orphans as well. We also need to decide on how much to pay people for their jobs, some survivors already want to start work."
Qianqian was at a fix,she was running low on points, she opened her interface and was suprised.

She had an additional 270,000 points. She turned to Xiaoyu all smiles, let's go then.
She quickly opened the interface and searched for more bigger hostels.
The first hostel had been placed at Zone A,this time around she wanted it at Zone D,the core facilities Zone. She had underestimate just how much people would arrive.
They weren't much as of now but she didn't want to take chances.
Qianqian stood in the middle of the core facility zone, envisioning the layout of the larger hostel she wanted to construct for the increasing number of survivors. Her system interface glimmered faintly as she mentally plotted the design.
The hostel, named "Haven Hall", would be a complex of interconnected buildings forming a U-shaped structure. This allowed for efficient space utilization and ensured that no single building felt overly crammed. It would consist of:
1. Four Floors of Residential Units
Each floor would house 25 rooms, each designed to accommodate four people.
The rooms would be spacious enough for bunk beds, individual lockers, a small seating area, and shared bathroom facilities exclusive to each room.
Wide hallways with emergency exits would make movement easy and safe.
Each floor would have a common room where residents could relax, socialize, or share meals.
2. Separate Cafeteria Building
A two-story cafeteria would be constructed nearby to cater to all hostel residents.
The ground floor would be a dining hall with buffet-style serving counters, while the second floor would have smaller, quieter dining spaces for families or groups.
A small shop would be included to sell snacks, toiletries, and other basic needs for points.
3. Outdoor Spaces
A small courtyard in the middle of the U-shaped building would have benches, a fountain, and a few trees for a relaxing atmosphere.
A children's play area and a dedicated space for community activities like announcements or small events.
Qianqian activated her system, selecting the blueprint for Haven Hall. The faint shimmering of energy marked the ground as the buildings began taking shape. It cost her a hefty number of points, a total of 70,000 points.
After sorting out the hostel problem, she went straight to her office which was at the top floor of the Office building.
Qianqian leaned back in her chair, her gaze fixed on the vast expanse of Elysion visible through the large windows of her office.
The top floor of the office building offered a commanding view of the growing base, from the newly constructed Haven Hall to the bustling activity at the resource warehouse.
Lin Na sat across from her, scrolling through a list of jobs on a tablet, her brows furrowed in concentration.
"I didn't think figuring out salaries would be this complicated," Qianqian admitted, rubbing her temples. "We can't pay too little and risk people losing motivation, but we can't be overly generous either. Points are a limited resource."
Lin Na nodded thoughtfully. "We need to ensure fairness, but also consider the level of difficulty and danger for each job. For example, those working in defense or patrolling outside should earn more than someone maintaining the garden or cleaning."
Qianqian reached for her notepad, jotting down categories. "Agreed. Let's break it down into tiers. High-risk jobs, essential services, and general labor."
High Risk jobs (400 - 500 Points per week)
● Patrol - 400 points.
●Scavenger - 450 points
●Medical personnel - 500 points
Essential services ( 250 - 350 points per week)
●Cafeteria staff - 350 points
●Maintenance teams - 300 points
●Teachers or caretakers - 250 points
General Labour ( 80 - 200 points per week)
●Cleaning crews - 100 points
●Warehouse workers - 150 points
●Gardener and agricultural workers - 200 points.
Qianqian then inputed them into her system, each week, the system would credit the workers as listed.
She also customised uniforms for each job,the base's name and symbol were at the upper left side of the uniforms and posed as a badge.
Qianqian didn't put down the salaries of the mall employees,as she wanted to pay them per shift and was hoping to give the job to teens, who needed help.
"Thanks for helping," Qianqian said softly.
Lin Na looked up and grinned. "Anytime, boss."
After sorting all this out,she felt famished. Neither she nor the others had rested for hours.
Yet the Chaos outside the walls didn't seem to be ending anytime soon.
