"Athena, stay steady! As long as you master telepathy, taking down that guy won't be difficult!"
Su Ye shouted, seemingly comforting Athena, but in reality, it was meant for Loki to hear.
There were nine people in the fighters' team, and among them, only Athena's telepathy posed the greatest threat to Loki, who excelled at stealth.
Therefore, as long as Athena was taken out first, Loki would essentially be invincible.
And to take down Athena, Loki would first need to eliminate Su Ye, who was guarding her like a bodyguard.
This was precisely what Su Ye wanted Loki to think.
Even if Loki didn't act on it and merely glanced at Su Ye with hostility and killing intent, Spider Sense would be enough to pinpoint his location.
Sure enough, right after Su Ye's shout, the hairs on his body stood on end, and a sense of danger flashed in his mind.
Although it was just a fleeting moment, it was enough.
The shadow of a dagger reappeared in the void, shooting towards the fighters, but Su Ye ignored it, clenched his fist, and charged toward an empty spot on the left.
Flaming Punch!
The red flame lit up the night sky. Just as everyone thought Su Ye had lost it and was blindly attacking, a loud "bang" was heard.
The flaming fist hit an invisible face, pulling Loki's entire body out of stealth. He spun midair three and a half times before crashing into a nearby wall with a "boom."
"This bastard, so he was hiding here?"
Dong Jang shouted, leapt forward with a flying kick, grabbed Loki by the neck, swung him off the wall, and smashed him onto the ground, following up with a brutal combo.
"Blazing Hurricane Fierce Tiger Kick! Ora ora ora ora!"
A flurry of punches, knee strikes, and spinning face kicks pummeled Loki like a sandbag, sending him airborne, unable to land for quite a while.
As Dong Jang's combo ended, Ryo Sakazaki on the other side roared.
"Dragon-Tiger Rampage! Ora ora ora ora!"
The same rapid combo, same battle cry, and the same combination of fists and kicks landed on the other side of Loki's body.
When Ryo Sakazaki stopped, Loki fell to the ground, lying there like a broken rag doll, letting out faint, labored breaths: "Ah..."
Loki should be thankful that Ralph from the Ikari Warriors wasn't here. Otherwise, a 'Super Argentine Backbreaker' would've dealt even more damage than Hulk's left and right slams. It wouldn't just hurt his body, but also his dignity—a true blow to both body and soul.
"Who the hell is this guy?"
Dong Jang and Ryo Sakazaki stood on either side, arms crossed, glaring at the fallen Loki with displeased expressions.
"He doesn't seem like a martial artist, but he took both of our ultimates and didn't die. This guy seems pretty tough!"
"Terry, Robert, want to give it a try? There's nothing like the feeling of landing your ultimate on someone, that real impact of fist on flesh—it's exhilarating!"
"Brother Ye, you should sit this one out," Dong Jang sneaked a glance at Mai Shiranui standing behind Su Ye, "This kind of brawling probably isn't your style..."
Terry and Robert were clearly eager to join. After all, no one learns martial arts purely for fitness. Given a chance to legally and legitimately beat someone up, why refuse?
"Enough!"
Loki shouted from the ground, struggling to stand up.
"You Midgardian mortals, show some respect! I am a god! A god from Asgard!"
"Heh!" Dong Jang scoffed. "An Asgardian god? Not much to look at!"
Ryo Sakazaki snorted, looking like he was ready to start another round at the slightest provocation.
Loki's lips twitched. "If you think a god can be humiliated like this, you're gravely mistaken. The power of a god is beyond your comprehension."
Yuri Sakazaki, who had been quiet until now, wrinkled her nose. "I feel like you're just bragging!"
"Hmph, you'll see soon enough!"
As Loki spoke, he flipped his hand, revealing an ice-blue box.
Upon seeing the box, Su Ye's brow furrowed instantly.
That was the Casket of Ancient Winters, an immensely powerful artifact of the Frost Giants. It could rapidly generate large-scale freezing energy and had nearly frozen the entire Earth during the battle between the Frost Giants and Asgard a millennium ago.
This was once considered a treasure no less powerful than the Tesseract, but for some reason, it eventually became nothing more than a decoration. Even after Asgard was destroyed, it remained collecting dust in Odin's vault.
Perhaps Loki avoided using the Casket because he didn't want to confront his Frost Giant heritage; using it would reveal his Frost Giant traits, which might be why he abandoned it.
In the official MCU, Loki's thoughts on this are unknown, but the Loki before them seemed to have completely given up on hiding it.
With the Casket of Ancient Winters in hand, his body and face instantly turned icy blue, and his eyes became crimson.
Loki paid no heed and directly activated the Casket. Intense, wild freezing energy burst from his fingers, surging towards the fighters.
Wherever the frost passed, the ground was immediately covered with a thick layer of ice. Dong Jang, the closest, was instantly encased in a layer of ice, trapping his entire body.
"Terry, step up! Everyone else, fall back!"
Su Ye shouted. Though Mai Shiranui and the others were confused, they obediently retreated.
Su Ye dashed behind Dong Jang, grabbed his frozen body, and hurled him backward, shouting, "Mai!"
"Got it!"
In mid-run, Mai Shiranui leaped into the air and, spinning mid-flight, unleashed a "Dragon Flame Dance" on the airborne, ice-encased Dong Jang.
Flames erupted, shattering the ice encasing Dong Jang. He hit the ground, rolled, got up, and shivered as he ran, "Damn, that was freezing!"
On the other side, Terry stood next to Su Ye. Without hesitation, he raised his fist and slammed it into the ground against the incoming frost.
"Power Geyser!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Several flame-like energy geysers burst from the ground, temporarily blocking the freezing energy from reaching Su Ye. However, it wasn't very effective; the frost's range was too wide and fast. Terry's Power Geyser seemed like a futile effort.
At that moment, after tossing Dong Jang, Su Ye adjusted his posture mid-air and slammed his fist into the ground upon landing.
"Power Geyser!"
The same move, unleashing fiery energy columns from the ground, but Su Ye's geysers were larger, longer, and faster than Terry's by a significant margin.
The massive fiery columns not only blocked the frost but even pierced through it. One final geyser erupted directly beneath Loki, launching him and the Casket of Ancient Winters into the air.
Terry couldn't help but sigh, "Brother Ye truly lives up to his reputation. When will I ever have such a powerful pillar?"
