Chapter 120: Bar Opening

Chapter 120: Bar Opening

"Well…I can't seem to open this door," Qin Sitong muttered. She'd watched how easily Yun Zijin opened the Lamborghini Sián door, but now she couldn't find the handle or figure out how it worked.

Lingqi came over at that moment and opened the passenger door for her. "Please get in," he said, in what he considered his gentlest tone.

After Qin Sitong got into the passenger seat, Lingqi closed the door for her.

"Zijin, who was that just now?" Qin Sitong asked, thinking of how obediently the man seemed to be waiting on her friend.

"My bodyguard," Zijin replied calmly. "Don't worry, they usually won't interfere with what we do."

Qin Sitong stared. "So…they're all your bodyguards?" The idea of her friend, who used to work part-time for tuition, now having bodyguards was mind-boggling.

"Seven of the men, yes. Meilin and Yiyang are not," said Zijin, not minding if Qin Sitong knew. "I'm used to it by now."

"That's incredible. How can someone change so much in just one summer?" Qin Sitong said, voice full of awe. Last semester, Zijin used to hustle for money every way she could—now she was driving a Lamborghini and had multiple bodyguards in tow.

Zijin just smiled faintly. "I guess I'm just lucky."

Night Bar.

The bar that Sheng Yang opened had begun its trial operation. The dance floor on the first floor was packed with men and women dancing to thumping music, and the vibe was already lively. Upstairs, in a private room overlooking the crowd, Sheng Yang and a few friends observed the scene. They were clearly in good spirits.

"Second Young Master Sheng, you're doing great. The place is so busy on opening night," Li Yuexuan exclaimed. Even if many drinks were discounted for the trial, profits looked guaranteed.

"It's okay," Sheng Yang said modestly, though his pride glimmered through. "By the way, why hasn't Sister Yun arrived yet? As a senior, she shouldn't have any complicated check-in procedures at school."

Indeed, signing in as a freshman often meant extra steps—getting an ID, dorm assignment, and so on. Seniors didn't need all that.

"I just talked to her," Su Mengyao said. "Zijin brought one of her classmates along, so they're on their way."

In the Lamborghini, Qin Sitong was like a curious child, examining every detail of the car's interior. "Time passed so quickly," she murmured when Zijin pulled to a stop outside a building with a modest sign reading "Night Bar."

Night Bar was located near the university. "So this is your friend's bar, right?" Qin Sitong noted how unremarkable the exterior looked. "Doesn't look special."

Zijin only smiled. "Have a look inside. I was here once before, and the inside is pretty good." She led Qin Sitong in, noticing the girl's slight nervousness—this was her first time in a bar.

"Let's head upstairs. My friends are in a private room," Zijin said. Waiters recognized her; they knew of her shareholder status, so they respectfully greeted her as she passed.

"All right," Qin Sitong replied, feeling too shy to venture off by herself.

"Sister Yun is here!" Sheng Yang called excitedly from the private room's window. He saw Zijin entering downstairs with another girl. "Everyone put out your cigarettes. Hurry!" Although drinking in the private room was fine, he preferred it to be smoke-free when Zijin was around. If they wanted to smoke, they could do it in the designated area.

Su Mengyao had already texted Zijin the room number, so Zijin took Qin Sitong upstairs without a waiter's guidance. She knocked thrice, and someone opened the door. The moment she stepped in, Su Mengyao rushed over.

"Zijin, you're here!" Su Mengyao exclaimed, seizing her arm. Then, noticing Qin Sitong, she blinked with slight wariness. She jealously thought, Who is this new girl, and why is she so close to Zijin?

"This is Qin Sitong, my roommate," Zijin explained. "Sitong, these are my friends—bar owner Sheng Yang, Su Mengyao, Li Yuexuan, Fu Yang, Lu Yunfeng, and Wu Zicheng."

Since they'd spent the summer bonding, she'd gotten comfortable with all of them.

Li Yuexuan flashed Qin Sitong a friendly grin. "Welcome! Anyone Sister Yun brings is a friend of ours. Just pick what you'd like to eat or drink. It's our first day open, so we're offering a 20% discount on everything."

He tried to sound generous, but in reality, Sheng Yang had grown stingy after scraping money to open the bar. He was reluctant even about that 20% discount, but recognized it as a necessary gesture for opening day. It would end tomorrow.

Qin Sitong smiled politely, still a bit stiff. She clung to Zijin's side. Su Mengyao noticed the tension and decided not to act jealous. Instead, she teased, "Don't be scared. They might look scary, but they're all bluster."

"Su Mengyao!" Li Yuexuan yelped. "You can't sabotage our image like that. Don't you want to impress Sheng Yang?"

She laughed dismissively, "I'm not the same naive girl as before, okay? Just focus on your own stuff."

Sheng Yang sat quietly, inwardly admitting he was a bit superficial. Luckily, Su Mengyao didn't see through him completely. Meanwhile, Zijin poured a glass of juice for Qin Sitong. "Here," she said softly. "It's better not to start with alcohol on your first bar visit."

"Thank you," Qin Sitong mumbled, taking the juice and sipping it. Then she inched closer to Zijin, whispering, "Hey, those names…sound kinda familiar."
