Chapter 149: Lu Yunque Came to the Milk Tea Shop

Chapter 149: Lu Yunque Came to the Milk Tea Shop

"It's fine. Have you finished writing the recruitment notice? I'll have Lingyi and the others take it to the print shop for copies, then we'll post it outside."

Although Qin Sitong had noticed the strange boy from earlier, Yun Zijin didn't dwell on it. If something were truly amiss, the person would likely return. Whatever the motive, as long as their milk tea shop operated legally, there wasn't much anyone could do to harm them.

"I've already drafted the text. Yesterday, I borrowed a computer from Aunt Wang to do the layout. I'll send you the file now," Qin Sitong said.

At that moment, Qin Sitong was the only one in the shop who could make every beverage on the menu, so she couldn't leave her station. Yun Zijin received the file, then forwarded it to Lingyi.

Of course, Lingyi wouldn't do this errand alone. Yesterday, Lingqi went; today, it was Lingliu's turn.

"Boss, are you hiring?" asked a nearby customer.

Yun Zijin and Qin Sitong hadn't particularly lowered their voices while discussing help-wanted ads, and some customers sipping milk tea in the seating area overheard them.

"Yes, if you know someone suitable, they can come in for an interview," Yun Zijin replied. "But whether they get hired depends on their qualifications."

"Boss! We also introduced some friends who want to try the Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea. Any chance we can reserve cups in advance?"

Though two hundred cups a day sounded like a lot, once the Wangyou Milk Tea Shop's fame spread, even five hundred cups might not suffice.

"The shop isn't taking reservations yet," Yun Zijin said firmly. "If that policy changes, we'll announce it. For now, we're sticking to first come, first served."

She gave them no opportunity to push for special treatment, unwilling to abandon the two-hundred-cup limit. The guests, seeing her determination, didn't argue further.

Just then, outside Wangyou Milk Tea Shop, a Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up. A man exited the driver's seat, hurried around to the rear passenger door, and opened it.

Had Yun Zijin been at the door, she would've recognized him: Mo Bin, Lu Yunque's assistant. And indeed, Lu Yunque stepped out of the car. Before entering the Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea Shop, Lu Yunque glanced up at the sign to ensure he was in the right place, then pushed open the door and walked inside.

A person of his bearing stood out at once, and Yun Zijin, who was near the counter, noticed him immediately. Though puzzled by the presence of Lu Corporation's president in a milk tea shop, she tactfully refrained from voicing her curiosity.

"I never expected a big CEO like you to come into a milk tea shop. What would you like?" Yun asked.

Seeing Lu Corporation's domineering president in her little shop felt, frankly, a bit surreal, as though the glamorous aura of a 'business titan' was suddenly deflated.

"Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea," Lu Yunque answered.

Lu Yunfeng had been extolling its virtues in their family group chat the previous day. Unfortunately, Lu Yunque had been at the office and couldn't leave. Today, he needed to manage the formalities for Lu's donation to Teikyo University's new integrated lab building. Ordinarily, someone else could've handled it, but remembering Lu Yunfeng mentioning that Zijin would be in the shop for three days, Lu himself came.

"All right, and Assistant Mo?" asked Yun, glancing at Mo Bin, who stood quietly beside Lu.

"I'll have what the president's having," Mo Bin said simply.

"Got it! By the way, it's our grand opening, so we're offering twenty percent off. Two cups total 140 yuan," Yun told them.

Mo Bin pulled out his phone and swiftly scanned the QR code to pay.

Why does it feel like I'm losing money every time I step out with him…?

"Let me handle that," Lu interjected. He took out his own phone and transferred 140 yuan back to Mo Bin.

Mo Bin: I take back my grumbling! The boss truly is decisive and generous.

Observing their exchange, Yun sensed an undercurrent but couldn't quite put her finger on it.

After the payment, Qin Sitong was about to start making the drinks when Yun stopped her.

"Take a little break. I'll make theirs," said Yun.

When Lu heard that Zijin would personally prepare the Forget-Your-Worries Milk Tea, the corners of his lips curved, his expression visibly softer. However, the idea that Mo Bin would also get a cup made by her left him feeling oddly disgruntled.

Unaware of Lu's private thoughts, Yun deftly followed the necessary steps to brew the tea.

"Would you like it here or to go?" she asked, handing the first cup over. Given that Lu was always busy, she assumed he might leave right after.

"Right here," Lu replied immediately.

Mo Bin nearly spoke up to remind Lu about the upcoming afternoon meeting, presumably expecting him to take it to go. Instead, Lu had responded before Mo Bin could say anything, prompting a baffled look on the assistant's face.

"Sir, about the meeting…" Mo Bin ventured softly.

A single glance from Lu silenced him. The meeting wasn't scheduled until the afternoon; it should be fine unless things got unexpectedly delayed. If necessary, they could hold a video conference or coordinate differently.

"All right, I'll bring them to your table," Yun said.

She poured the prepared tea into decorative glasses, set them on a tray, and was about to carry it over.

"No, it's fine. I've got it," Mo Bin insisted, taking the tray himself. "Actually, the president might want to discuss the lab-building donation with you, Ms. Yun."

Having heard this, Yun nodded. She did plan to invest a certain amount in the building as well.

"Right, that hasn't been finalized," Yun agreed. Turning to Qin Sitong, she added, "Tongtong, I'm heading over there for a bit. Can you manage on your own?"

It was mealtime, so fewer customers were currently in the shop.

"No problem, go ahead!" Qin Sitong assured her.

When Qin Sitong first saw the imposing, handsome man stepping in with Mo Bin, she'd been momentarily stunned. Then, upon realizing he knew Yun, the CP-shipping part of her heart ignited wildly: A beautiful, cool lady matched with a refined, noble gentleman from a prestigious family. Anyone who hasn't shipped them must be missing out!

While Zijin and Lu walked side by side, Mo Bin followed, carrying the two steaming cups of milk tea. After picking a table, the assistant gently placed a cup before each of them.

"Ms. Yun, please take mine. I'll buy another one for myself," Mo Bin said, then departed with the tray.

"Huh? But that was Assistant Mo's order…" Zijin murmured in confusion.

"Go ahead and drink it," Lu said calmly. "I'll make up for Assistant Mo's cost later."

Given that the two cups were personally made by Zijin, Lu felt it only right for her to enjoy one. Sensing no further reason to refuse, Zijin set aside her misgivings and accepted it.

Next, Lu pulled out the contract for Lu Corporation's collaboration with Teikyo University, about donating an integrated lab building. Taking the folder from Mo Bin's briefcase (placed on a nearby seat), he handed it to Zijin.

"This is our first draft, unsigned by either side. There'll likely be minor adjustments, but the overall direction is set. If you're definitely investing, I'll have your name added to the contract," he explained.

Yun carefully reviewed the terms for a while before placing the file down.

"All right, it looks fine. But due to some personal reasons, if I invest my one billion yuan, I'd prefer to contribute it in daily installments of five million. Does that work for you?" she asked.
