Chapter 164: Is This Kiss Necessary?
Although the other guests were disgruntled, none of them could protest after noticing the bodyguards following Yun Zijin. Having a few extra cups was better than nothing.
Fortunately, when Yun Zijin and Qin Sitong asked someone to draw up the architectural plans, they specifically designed a larger production room. This prevented it from feeling crowded with four people inside simultaneously.
Yun Zijin made six cups of Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea at once. She took the one intended for Fang Shuxin, leaving five cups behind.
"You can handle these cups. I'm heading out!"
Leaving those five completed cups of Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea with Qin Sitong, Yun Zijin strode out of the production area unhesitatingly, taking the share for her landlady with her.
Qin Sitong felt slightly bitter, thinking that Yun Zijin was indeed a hands-off boss to the core.
"Landlady, here's your Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea!"
Yun Zijin set the Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea in front of Fang Shuxin and returned to her seat.
"Alright, let me taste it. If it isn't as good as the other girl's version, I'm asking for a refund."
Fang Shuxin spoke half-jokingly.
Yun Zijin raised an eyebrow. "You'll know once you try."
While she personally believed the milk tea she made was no different from Qin Sitong's, customers undeniably seemed more eager for hers. That suggested her version might possess some subtle quality Qin Sitong's didn't.
Nevertheless, Yun had given it little thought—she rarely made it herself these days anyway.
Fang Shuxin picked up the Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea, took a sip, and instantly experienced a delighted surprise.
If the Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea made by Qin Sitong reminded her of joyful memories—instilling a sense of presence—Yun's version made Fang Shuxin feel as though she had truly returned to that particular moment. Even details she'd half-forgotten seemed vivid again.
At that instant, Fang Shuxin finally realized why customers were more inclined to request the version made by Yun Zijin. Though the beverage had special properties already, Yun's "enhanced version" was on another level.
"How is it? Mine's no worse than Tongtong's, right?"
Yun Zijin still exuded confidence in her skills.
"Mhm, it's really delicious."
Fang Shuxin didn't comment on the difference. Qin Sitong's variant was also quite excellent and absolutely qualified to be Wangyou Milk Tea Shop's signature drink.
"Zijin, do you remember that last time I said I wanted to introduce you to a grandson of mine?"
Midway through drinking, Fang Shuxin abruptly mentioned the blind date she had in mind for Yun Zijin.
Yun nearly spat out the mouthful of Forget-Your-Sorrow Milk Tea. Even so, she couldn't avoid choking a bit.
"Ahem!"
Fang Shuxin promptly stood to pat Yun on the back.
"Did I scare you? Aiya, can't help it."
Once Yun recovered, Fang Shuxin returned to her seat, letting out a deep sigh.
"What's wrong? If there's anything I can do, please tell me. I'd love to help!"
Thinking about how Fang Shuxin had helped her in the past, Yun felt bad seeing her looking upset.
"Really?"
After Yun spoke, Fang Shuxin's eyes brightened; but presumably she found her reaction too obvious, so she quickly toned it down.
Though Yun felt a hint of something amiss, she nodded. "Yes, go on."
"Then...would you agree to meet my grandson? I'm not asking you to date him; just meet. Doesn't matter whether you end up together or not."
In her view, she'd fulfilled Xiao Yunque's request. Securing the beauty would depend on his own capabilities.
Yun remained silent for a moment, then asked, "Your grandson refers to…?"
She had encountered two younger Lu family members so far.
"You've already met him! The time you returned the key—Little Skylark is my youngest grandson. My older grandson is away all year, so I can't meddle with him."
Yun blinked. Did this mean a "marriage appointment" was essentially set? She was still a college student, so wasn't it kind of premature?
As an aside, she'd heard that tying the knot before graduation might earn extra credits. But she had already racked up enough credits, so it made no difference anyway.
"Lu Yunque?"
She recalled hearing Mr. Lu's wife address him as Little Skylark during a birthday banquet. Sounded sort of cute.
"Yes, yes. Though he's older, he's caring enough, and he doesn't look bad—just slightly inferior to how handsome his grandpa was. Once you marry him, half his assets are yours. Doesn't that sound good?
An ugly man might be a scumbag, and a handsome man might be one too. Why not pick a handsome one? If he ever bullies you, you tell me, and I'll have his mom, grandpa, and uncles gang up on him!"
Trendy ideas indeed, for a woman in her fifties.
Yun was floored by her rapid spiel.
"I mean...that might be fine…but would Yunque agree? Please don't set it up without asking him first. Or I might get stood up."
While she considered Lu Yunque a friend, and it did seem he'd confessed some interest in her, Yun felt that for a formal blind date, you had to at least give him a heads-up.
"Don't worry, there'll be no issue. So, shall we fix a date?"
Having essentially accomplished her objective, Fang Shuxin just wanted to finalize the matter to avoid complications.
"I'm okay with anything. Depends on his schedule."
At present, Yun had loads of free time, but Lu Yunque was constantly busy.
"Alright! I'll talk to Little Skylark at home, then make a reservation at a restaurant with a nice ambiance for you two."
Fang Shuxin planned to handle the reservation as well. If she intended to boost the success rate of their blind date, ambiance was crucial.
She genuinely liked Yun. If things went well and Yun became her grandson's wife, she'd be overjoyed.
"Anyway, enough of that. I bought so many items on my travels this time, and I brought something for you too. But I didn't expect to run into you here today—why not come home with me so I can give you your present?"
After solidifying the plan to arrange a meetup between Yun and Lu Yunque, Fang Shuxin grew carefree. She had always been spontaneous. Before marriage, her father and brothers doted on her; afterward, she was cherished by her husband and sons. She'd led a rather pampered life.
Hence, despite being over fifty, she was lively. If not for her age, she could easily pass for a "big sister" type in front of Yun. Even now, their interactions felt less like older and younger, more like friends of different generations.
"Isn't that too much, though? You've already helped me so much and I haven't even properly thanked you. How could I accept yet another gift from you?"
Yun hadn't expected that Fang Shuxin would also bring her a souvenir, feeling undeservingly honored.
"What's the big deal? The main reason is I genuinely like you. I wouldn't bother bringing souvenirs for just anyone!"
