Gwen woke up the following day in the hospital, wincing in a lot of pain.

Every part of her body ached but the trauma on her head was more excruciating. It felt as though a school bus had run over her face, leaving behind a mangled mess. Her head felt heavy. Her vision was dark and blurry. She had no idea where she was or why she couldn't move her body. It felt as though a weight was placed on the chest making breathing difficult.

She tried to remember what happened to her and why her head was throbbing so badly. But the more she tried to task her brain for answers, the more her head pounded. Until she gave up the seemingly difficult task.

Focusing on her breathing, she tried to sniff out her environment. But breathing wasn't an easy task. Something was obstructing the natural flow of air into her lungs. It felt as though she was breathing in artificial air through this device on her nose.
