The Blaming Game

Amelia felt her heart stiffen as memories of everything Gwen had done to destroy her replayed in her mind. She bit down on her lower lips to stifle her bubbling rage as she responded to her father's question.

"Gwen stopped being my sister after she stabbed me in the back and tried to kill me with the rest of the family. Also, I don't want to discuss this matter right now. I need you to follow my bodyguard to the car waiting for you outside while I speak to the house staff."

The senator released a frustrated sigh. "It's like I don't have a say in this matter."

"You do, Dad." Amelia stood up forcing a smile. She helped her father stand up and hugged him temporarily. "But try not to get too emotional about it. Every one of them needs to learn from their mistake or they will do it all over again. Go now and rest your head. It's going to be a long night."

The senator sighed, nodding his head. "It's really going to be a long one."
