Amelia shook her head in response, batting her lashes to push back her tears.

"That doesn't look like nothing to me," Maria said softly, wiping Amelia's flowing tears with her thumb. "Something seems to be upsetting you. Talk to me, my dear. You can trust me. Your secret is safe with me."

Amelia stared into her mother-in-law's sea-green eyes which reflected so much warmth and sincerity. She knew she could trust her with any secret.

However, the current issue is very complicated. It was a legal matter bonded by law and trust.

Not only was Maria unaware of their contract marriage for one year, but she knew nothing about their signed agreement about having kids.

Taking advantage of her mother-in-law's desire to have grandchildren felt selfish and Amelia knew Blaze would never forgive her if he discovered that she tried to use his mother against him. She decided she would rather tell him first before breaking the news to his mother than earn his hatred.
