Chapter 59: Little Tsundere

Chapter 59: Little Tsundere

Tonari's appearance had undergone an unprecedented transformation—far more complete than his prior Half-Beast Transformation. To be precise, his earlier state shouldn't have been called Beast Transformation but rather the Two-Tails Mode or Partial Two-Tails Mode.

This time, the Partner Shadow Clone Jutsu (Ninpō: Tag-Team Kage Bunshin) was inspired by an idea from Naruto Uzumaki himself, the destined hero of Konoha.

Both the Two-Tails and Gamabunta were chakra-based entities, but the Two-Tails' chakra far surpassed Gamabunta's in scale. The Shadow Clone Jutsu (Kage Bunshin no Jutsu) divided the user's chakra equally among their clones. Given that the Two-Tails was essentially a massive concentration of self-aware chakra, splitting off a clone should theoretically be feasible.

This made the idea of creating a shadow clone of the Two-Tails plausible—a miniaturized and cooperative version of the bijū.

To achieve this, the Two-Tails needed to relax completely and merge its chakra with Tonari's, following Tonari's chakra flow as the guide. Together, they had to execute the Shadow Clone Jutsu, a highly advanced and risky technique.

This transformation surpassed the previous Two-Tails Mode because the beast was now actively syncing its chakra with Tonari's instead of passively releasing it.

Still, neither Tonari nor the Two-Tails was focused on that aspect at the moment.

Sweat began to bead on Tonari's forehead as the Two-Tails stood on all fours, its expression serious. Both of them were exerting immense control over their chakra. Tonari strained to manipulate his own chakra while simultaneously directing the massive, volatile energy of the Two-Tails. Meanwhile, the Two-Tails carefully regulated its chakra output, ensuring that it contributed only a minimal amount—enough for the technique to work but not so much that it risked creating an entirely new, autonomous entity.

The sealed space surged with turbulent energy. The air currents were chaotic and fierce, causing Tonari's clothes to ripple wildly, while the Two-Tails' fur seemed to bristle under the intensity.

Finally, after what felt like an eternity...

As Tonari's face turned pale and veins bulged in his neck, the chakra flow within him surged violently.

Boom!

A massive puff of smoke erupted around Tonari's feet.

As the smoke slowly cleared, Tonari's eyes widened in shock. He wasn't alone anymore. Standing before him was...

A miniaturized Two-Tails.

For a moment, both Tonari and the tiny Two-Tails stared at each other, equally stunned.

What had emerged wasn't a grand or powerful clone. Instead, it was... small, cute, and undeniably adorable.

The Partner Shadow Clone Jutsu had worked—on the first try, no less. Tonari and the Two-Tails had successfully created a diminutive version of the bijū. Their precise chakra control had paid off, resulting in a scaled-down clone that barely consumed their chakra reserves.

But…

Tonari's initial shock quickly morphed into excitement. He bent down and scooped up the mini-Two-Tails, holding it in his arms and running his fingers through its soft, flaming fur.

It was so satisfying.

Even in its tiny form, the Two-Tails' fur retained its signature silky texture. Tonari couldn't help but ruffle the fur of the little clone like it was a plush toy.

The real Two-Tails, observing from its towering form, was stunned. It had expected a disciplined experiment, not... this.

"Enough, you little brat!" the clone barked, its voice echoing up from Tonari's arms. Though smaller in size, the shadow clone retained the same sharp tone as the original.

The original Two-Tails narrowed its eyes, recognizing the familiar voice. Its suspicions were confirmed: the jutsu had succeeded. The clone had its own consciousness and would persist until it either exhausted its chakra or was dismissed.

Still, the original Two-Tails couldn't help but grimace at the sight of Tonari treating the shadow clone like a stuffed animal.

Finally, the Two-Tails spoke, its tone low and menacing. "Tonari. Get. Off. My. Head."

"Right away!" Tonari replied hastily, leaping down from the Two-Tails' head. He was still holding the miniature clone in his arms, grinning from ear to ear.

As he landed, the tiny Two-Tails slumped in his grasp, utterly defeated. Its fur was disheveled, its eyes dull, and its expression screamed despair. It was like a fluffy little cat that had just been over-petted into submission.

The original Two-Tails blinked, staring at its shadow clone in disbelief.

This... was not what it had envisioned.

Initially, the Two-Tails had thought this experiment would allow its shadow clone to observe the outside world and relay information back upon being summoned. But now, seeing the sorry state of its clone, it wasn't so sure it wanted to experience what the shadow clone had just endured.

Meanwhile, the miniature Two-Tails silently vowed vengeance. The moment it dissipated, it would ensure the original punished this little brat for his audacity. For now, it resigned itself to the indignity of being Tonari's plaything.

Tonari, oblivious to the clone's internal turmoil, carefully smoothed its ruffled fur with a contented grin. "See? Isn't that better?" he asked. "You're way cuter now that your fur isn't all messy."

The tiny Two-Tails froze. Somewhere deep in its subconscious, it felt a strange, traitorous sense of comfort.

Wait... Why did this actually feel kind of nice?

It shook its head violently, dispelling the thought.

Tonari cleared his throat, sensing the need to refocus. "Alright, Big Beautiful. Step one is complete! Now, we just need the clone to sign the summoning contract. Once that's done, I can try summoning it outside. The clone is just an extension of your chakra, so the risk should be minimal. I think this has a high chance of success."

Tonari then paused, his expression turning thoughtful. "But we can't keep calling it 'Two-Tails'... Since it's smaller, how about... 'Little Tsundere'?"

Both the original and miniature Two-Tails stared at him, their faces blank.

Tonari beamed. "It's perfect, right?"

The miniature Two-Tails wanted to protest, but... oddly enough, the name didn't seem so bad.

At least it wasn't something humiliating like... "Fluffy Ball of Doom."
