Ava couldn't help her smile as she observed Evelyn. How can someone so wealthy be so kind and warm? It was the opposite of what she'd imagined.
Honestly, in this life, she'd hoped for the same treatment like her previous life. The only difference being that she wasn't going to feel bad about it. But this level of care wasn't something she'd wanted, especially not from Maximus or his mother.
"Thank you, Evelyn."
Evelyn smiled again. She squeezed Ava's hand gently before taking her to the table. Maximus had already pulled out a chair for his little wife beside him.
"Sit here, dear," Evelyn said, guiding her to the seat beside Maximus.
Ava hesitated for a moment. With the memory from last night, she wanted to be as far away from Maximus as possible, but this wasn't possible now.
