His faint smile disappeared when he looked at William that lay unconscious on the bed.
Sasha stared suspiciously at the guards before shutting the door with a little more force than necessary. She then joined her mother, crossing her arms.
"My deepest condolences, Mrs. Whitlock. It's truly unfortunate that your father in law has to endure this. I was told his condition is improving and that he might regain consciousness soon."
"That's what we're all praying for." Matilda's eyes flickered to William. "Having William in this state has been a heavy burden on the entire family."
"I can only imagine." Wesley nodded.
Sucking in a deep breath, Matilda straightened her shoulders. "But let's not dwell on that. Why are you here, Mr. Rowland? It's not every day the CEO of the hospital makes a personal visit to a patient's room."
