Ava thought she had it all, but what she never expected was that her real family wanted nothing to do with her. They saw her as an eye-sore who was here to claim the position of their fake daughter, and they made no attempt to hide that they preferred the fake daughter to their flesh and blood.

Jerome, Ava's eldest brother asked, almost laughing, "Ava's at the point of death?"

Her mother hissed before replying almost immediately, "Good. Let her rot."

"Why are we being informed about this?" Noah, Ava's second brother asked.

"Ava is no longer part of the Whitlock household after the little stunt she pulled. It's sickening that she still bears my household's name legally, but don't call me even if she's dead," her father said dryly.

The black Bentley stopped in front of the hospital building and Ava looked around confused. "What are we doing here?" She stared at Maximus as he strode to her side and opened the door.

"Come out." Maximus held the door but Ava only stared at him skeptically.

She couldn't fathom why they were at a hospital. Was it because of her injury from yesterday? Or was Maximus sick?

"Aren't you eager to find out how your grandfather is doing?"

Ava went speechless. "How did—" She trailed off. She had a lot of questions, but she decided not to ask. Instead, "I do. I want to see him so bad," she replied.

"I can't... They won't—" she trailed off again. Telling him her family stopped her from seeing her grandfather because they hated her sounded pitiful, so she decided not to give him any reason.
