Fate and the Cursed Child

Under his mother's care, Ye Ling grew up resilient, despite the villagers' cold stares and whispers. His mother often comforted him with stories on dark, quiet nights, trying to dispel the shadows that seemed to follow him. Yet, one question remained in Ye Ling's heart: why was he called the "Cursed Child"? Whenever he asked, his mother would avoid the question, simply telling him to "never let others see anything unusual" and to keep his distance from the villagers.

One day, while playing near the edge of the forest with the village children, Ye Ling tried his best to join in, even though the others often avoided him. Suddenly, a wild wolf appeared, stalking the edge of the village. The children scattered, but Ye Ling, caught off guard, found himself face-to-face with the beast. In his terror, something deep within him stirred—a primal, fearsome power.

Heat rushed through his veins, his hands trembled, and his vision blurred, but somehow he felt he could "see" the wolf's every move. It wasn't fear he felt, but a strange exhilaration, an urge to confront the beast head-on. His body seemed possessed, drawn to the conflict.

Just then, his mother arrived, her face pale as she saw the state he was in. She ran to him, pulling him away from the wolf's gaze, whispering a quiet prayer in his ear. Slowly, the power inside him subsided, his vision returned to normal, and he found himself back in her arms, her eyes filled with a mix of terror and sadness.

Later that evening, unable to hold back any longer, Ye Ling demanded answers. He wanted to know why he had such strange powers and what his mother had been hiding. His mother sat in silence for a long time before finally speaking, telling him about the night of his birth—the storm, the villagers' fear, and the curse they had placed upon him.

She said, "Ye Ling, your life may be marked by something you cannot change. But even if fate is unfair, I believe you can find your own path. A curse is merely others' judgment; you are free."

Though he couldn't fully understand her words, Ye Ling felt the weight of her secrets and a glimpse of his unique destiny. From that day on, he resolved not just to fear his abilities but to uncover the truth about his powers.
