Turn the pages of dairy

Grandpa had left, and Smith was left alone in the library, not knowing what time of night it was. He sat there in silence, as if Grandpa's words had not only surprised him but also troubled him.

"This is your home," Grandpa's words echoed around him.

"How can this be my home? This is some ancient house, as if centuries have passed by it," Smith thought. Grandpa did not provide any further explanation. He simply left Smith alone in the library, locking the door behind him. But before leaving, he had given Smith a diary - the diary of Liza's father, Mark.

Smith took a deep breath. Memories were flooding his mind - memories of a past he knew little about. *Who were his parents, his mother? He had never been able to find out about them. The only person he had known in his life was the one who had raised him, but he was never sure if he loved or hated that person.
