“You’re sure you really want to go down this rabbit hole, Clarke?” M’s voice had that familiar snark in my head, but there was an edge to it this time.
A sort of rare thing, but not quite a novelty.
“You’ve done some recklessly stupid things before, but time? That’s a whole different level of stupid. And you haven’t even given me enough time to get my calculations in order.”
I stood right there, watching the resoluteness in Lynx’s posture and the harsh smirk on Chasms’s face.
Time was the only solution I could think to solve this problem that had just landed on my lap, but M wasn’t letting me move forward with this one.
“Please explain,” I said, crossing my arms, my tone matching hers.
Before I didn’t have the time to listen to her, I still did not now, but at least I could spare a moment.
M let out a deep sigh that certainly did not sound weird in my head.
