Gate Master Mara nodded.

They were already aware of the spreading rumors indicating that a monster swordsman had appeared inside the Sword Gate of the Divine Palace Sect. 

So, though they didn't show it, they were extra careful, ensuring no one got closer to Kent. They couldn't afford to let him fall into the hands of those tigers.

Kent was like a key they were now planning to use to discover the true identity of the Sect Master. So he could not die.

However, from the looks of things now, Kent might just be falling into the hands of these tigers if he indeed went ahead and defeated this Saintess.
