Strategy

Kai's expression darkened momentarily, shadows flickering across his face. "I have some conjectures but they won't matter until we confirm them ourselves. Look Ethan I can't tell you too much right now because I'm putting my hopes on you. I wouldn't want you to start acting out of place when you get there, but I will be your guide, your protector. I'll have your back."

Ethan felt a surge of gratitude mixed with determination, but a hint of self-doubt lingered in the back of his mind. "So, you're saying you'll help me?" he asked, trying to keep his voice steady. He was pumping himself up, pushing through the uncertainty that threatened to creep in.

The weight of the challenge ahead loomed large, and while he wanted to project confidence, the reality of stepping into such a dangerous world made his heart race. He took a deep breath, reminding himself that he had Kai's support, and that maybe, just maybe, he could rise to the occasion.

"Absolutely, I'm also not just helping you, Ethan; you'll be helping me too. We're in this together," Kai affirmed, his voice firm. He didn't have any doubts that he could get Ethan into White Tiger.

Ethan felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. "So, what do I need to do to join the gang?" he asked, eager to take the first step.

Kai leaned back, considering his words carefully. "You'll have to find a way to get their attention. White Tiger respects strength and loyalty." As he spoke, his gaze drifted momentarily, lost in thought. The word "loyalty" hung in the air, heavy with unspoken memories.

An eerie chill swept through the room. Kai's mind flashed back to the moment he had been betrayed, the look of pure determination and madness that filled the eyes of the ones he once called friends.

His anger surged as it threatened to take over the little hold he had of his sanity. Ethan didn't know this but Kai was battling with his instincts, and the urge to give into the madness, but he held onto his rationality with the will he had nurtured throughout his life as a member of White Tiger, and using that will, he took a hold of himself the next minute.

"Right, loyalty," he continued, his tone regaining its steadiness, and the atmosphere regaining it's normal mood. "You need to show them you're committed. One way to get involved in their activities is to join a fight club they run in the old warehouse district. It's where they recruit new members. If you can hold your own in a fight, they'll take notice."

Ethan, seeing that Kai wanted to pretend nothing just happened decided not to talk about it either.

With a racing heart at the reminder of how powerful Kai was, and the thought of stepping into a fight club, mixed with some adrenaline coursing through him, it was intoxicating. "A fight club? You think I can really do it?"

Kai nodded, his expression serious. "You can. Just remember though, it's not just about brute strength; it's about strategy and resilience. Show them you can take a hit and keep going. That's what they respect."
