Chapter 49: No Story, Just Alcohol

The movie was playing in front, but Chen Hanxing was lost in the memories of his past "bad boy" experiences. However, the actions of Shen Youchu brought him back to reality. She was trying to find a way to break free from his grip.

If anyone else noticed that his female companion seemed so uncomfortable, they would probably feel embarrassed and let go. But Chen Hanxing didn't care; getting her into his grasp was the goal, and getting her into his bed was the ultimate success.

"Don't move, just watch the movie!" he said sternly, his voice low.

Shen Youchu felt aggrieved by his harsh tone. She wasn't sure whether she should yell "assault," but Chen Hanxing had gone all out to help her apply for the financial aid, even skipping classes. As Hu Linyu had said, Chen Hanxing had a sense of morality, at least where she was concerned.

"Can you loosen your grip a bit?" she quietly asked, her eyes welling with tears.

Only then did Chen Hanxing realize that he might have pinched her too hard to prevent her from struggling. He loosened his grip but kept a firm hold, wary of her suddenly pulling away.

In truth, Shen Youchu didn't have any ulterior motives. After a quick glance at Chen Hanxing in the dark, she realized there was no way out and just continued watching the movie in silence.

For Shen Youchu, the movie ticket cost three yuan, which was about a day and a half's worth of living expenses for her. She had never seen a movie before, and the only television her family owned was a second-hand one given to her grandmother. So, she was quite curious about the big-screen film. Plus, *The Lion King* was a movie suitable for all ages—it had both entertainment and motivational elements. She got so engrossed in it that she didn't even notice the time.

When Simba faced danger, she tensed up, her whole body stiff. When Simba overcame it, joy was evident in her eyes.

The dim light in the theater reflected off Shen Youchu's face, casting a serene, lively profile, her long lashes, high nose, and full, rosy lips.

Chen Hanxing almost wanted to laugh. If it weren't for holding onto Shen Youchu's wrist, he would never have noticed how round and cute her wrist was.

"If Yu Yuelin knew about this, Shen Youchu's financial aid application would definitely be in jeopardy," Chen Hanxing chuckled inwardly.

It was hard to imagine that the usually reserved Shen Youchu had such a figure. But from a biological perspective, women like her probably had an innate charm, regardless of their circumstances. As time passed, her natural advantages would only become more apparent.

At this point, Shen Youchu likely realized that Chen Hanxing had been staring at her. Their eyes met, and Shen Youchu's gaze was filled with confusion, caution, grievance, and doubt.

She had never considered love, but Chen Hanxing had suddenly entered her quiet life, and it seemed he wasn't planning on leaving. Shen Youchu wasn't sure how to handle it.

Chen Hanxing smiled gently and gestured for her to continue watching the movie.

The two-hour film soon ended. When the lights came up in the university's activity center, Shen Youchu was ready to leave with the crowd. But Chen Hanxing tapped her hand: "Wait a bit. Let's go for a walk by the lake."

Shen Youchu didn't dare resist now, knowing that classmates might see them.

The university had an artificial lake, though it was small—about the size of a mirror reflecting the moonlight, occasionally disturbed by one or two red fish surfacing for air, creating ripples that slowly spread to the shore.

The night breeze picked up, and Chen Hanxing and Shen Youchu walked along the pebble path by the lake, with couples passing by from the opposite side, each stepping aside to let the other pass.

"Did you like the movie?" Chen Hanxing suddenly asked.

"Mm." Shen Youchu responded softly.

"Next time, I'll take you to another one. How about it?"

Shen Youchu didn't reply.

"What's wrong, you don't want to?" Chen Hanxing suddenly turned to face her.

Shen Youchu quickly lowered her head, the moonlight illuminating her forehead with a magnetic sheen.

Chen Hanxing couldn't resist. He leaned in and kissed her, just a quick peck.

"You… what are you doing?" Shen Youchu suddenly raised her head, startled by the kiss, unable to follow the perverted thoughts of this man.

"Sorry, I couldn't hold back… Oh, damn!" Chen Hanxing immediately tried to find an excuse, but Shen Youchu's reaction was more intense than expected. She pushed him away and ran toward the dorm.

Chen Hanxing lost his balance and tumbled into the artificial lake with a splash.

"Splash!" The sound of water splashing was loud, and it caught the attention of the couples around them, who stood up to watch.

Fortunately, the artificial lake wasn't deep—only about a meter deep. Chen Hanxing was not in danger, but he was drenched from head to toe.

Some of the onlookers laughed, "Man, you can't always walk by the river without getting wet."

Chen Hanxing wiped his face, unbothered, and retorted, "Bullshit, I'm just taking a bath in the river of love."

Shen Youchu hadn't expected to push him into the lake. She quickly ran back to check on him, and when she heard him arguing with the onlookers, she felt a little relieved.

"Are you okay?" Shen Youchu crouched by the shore, cautiously asking.

"Do you think I'm okay?" Chen Hanxing rolled his eyes and stretched out his hand toward her.

Shen Youchu was stunned, blinking her eyes in confusion, not moving.

"Help me up, you idiot," Chen Hanxing urged.

"Oh, oh, oh, don't yell at me!" Shen Youchu, who had had quite the eventful evening—watching a movie, holding hands, being kissed, and pushing someone into a lake—was flustered and, in a trembling voice, started to cry a little.

Drenched in water, Chen Hanxing's clothes clung to his body, his hair dripping. Shen Youchu stood beside him, not knowing what to do.

At this point, Chen Hanxing couldn't act like a pervert anymore. He just grumbled impatiently, "Let's go back. I only kissed you once, and you overreact like this!"

After saying this, he shook his head and walked back to the dorm. His shoes were like soaked sponges, making a "squeak, squeak" sound with each step, leaving wet tracks everywhere. It was a pretty pitiful sight.

Shen Youchu silently watched him from behind and, unable to help herself, smiled. Her smile was as bright as the stars, but unfortunately, Chen Hanxing didn't see it.

Back in the dorm, when the others saw Chen Hanxing's condition, they all came over to ask what happened. Of course, Chen Hanxing didn't tell the truth and simply said he had accidentally fallen into the lake.

Guo Shaoqiang scoffed, "We thought you had a good story to tell."

"What do you mean?" Chen Hanxing asked.

Yang Shichao explained, "The later you come back, the juicier your story. Look at Lao Liu, he's still not back. Maybe he's already getting cozy with Shang Yanyan."

There was a tinge of jealousy in Yang Shichao's voice. He liked Shang Yanyan, but Gold Yangming had acted faster.

Chen Hanxing thought about it for a moment and realized it made sense. After taking a shower, he called the others over to play cards, but strangely, he couldn't see Gold Yangming anywhere.

"This guy, he didn't go to a hotel, did he?" Guo Shaoqiang muttered.

Yang Shichao was too upset to play cards, imagining Gold Yangming kissing Shang Yanyan.

"Shouldn't be, right? Or did I misinterpret things?" Chen Hanxing thought but didn't say it out loud.

Around midnight, when the 602 roommates were having a tea party discussing the class girls, Gold Yangming finally returned, drunk.

"Lao Liu, come tell us your story!" Guo Shaoqiang said excitedly.

"Story?" Gold Yangming exhaled alcohol fumes and sneered. "I think it was more like an accident."

The roommates exchanged looks. Chen Hanxing climbed out of bed and asked seriously, "Lao Liu, what happened?"

Gold Yangming couldn't hold back anymore. He hugged Chen Hanxing and cried out loud, "Chen Bro, I was played by a woman! Shang Yanyan gave my ticket to someone else, and I ended up watching the movie with the dormitory manager!"
