Chapter 14: The end.

Cain manor
Cain sat behind his desk. His body was heavily bandaged in some places. He recently took off his neck casts on his desk was a book on astrology and the 12 zodiac signs which he had reason to study. Trevor's blade, unsheathed, was encased in glass and hung Hugh in the wall behind his chair. Beneath it was a was a protruding open shelf carrying a ceramic vase which contained Trevor's ashes. A young choc-skinned girl walked into the study with a pink bathrobe and a shower cap. On her feet were a pair of white flip-flops with bunny ear. "You're such a nerd." She said playfully and ent to pick something from the other end of the room. "Rich coming from the Registered Nurse with a 4.9 GPA. Dork." Cain replied teasingly. Zara eyes him a bit and hissed playfully before she left the room. The door clicked shut behind her. Cain looked up and laughed to himself a bit before he continued reading.
A soft wind blew into the room and turned the leaves of his book. But, the windows were closed, and the door was shut. Cain looked up again. A familiar pale man with spiky black hair leaned against the couch and ugh a cigarette burning between his lips. He took it out of his lips and pressed the glowing butt against the couch to put it out, singeing it's fabric.
"Shadow."
"How's it going boss? I knew you'd be fine. Now wasn't that so much fun? Wanna do it again? Huh?" Shadow asked struggling to contain a fit of laughter.
"You went too far Shadow. This last stunt you just pulled was too much to let go. That was the last straw shadow. I'm warning you."
"I am the Lord Shadow. Third power of Heaven. Catch me if you can!"
He laughed in a maniacal way and disappeared. Disappeared into the shadows.
