Arrested

The morning started like any other, but an unexpected knock at the door changed everything. Caius, still reeling from the previous day's events, was in the kitchen when he heard the commotion outside. His father, Trevor, was already heading towards the door, his expression cautious.

As Trevor opened the door, two police officers stood on the porch, their expressions serious. "Trevor Scott Pantian?" one of them asked, his voice firm.

"Yes, that's me," Trevor replied, a sense of unease settling over him.

"We have a warrant for your arrest," the officer said, holding up a piece of paper. "You're under arrest for your involvement in crimes related to the Panthers of South Side."

Caius's heart dropped as he watched the scene unfold. "Dad, what's going on?" he asked, panic rising in his voice.

"It's okay, Caius," Trevor said, trying to keep his voice steady. "There's been a mistake."

The officers stepped inside, placing Trevor in handcuffs. "You have the right to remain silent," one of them began, reciting the familiar Miranda rights.

"Dad!" Caius shouted, feeling a surge of helplessness. "You can't just take him!"

One of the officers turned to Caius, his expression sympathetic but firm. "We're reopening an old case involving the Panthers. We have new evidence that implicates your father."

Caius felt a mix of anger and despair. "He left that life behind! This isn't fair!"

"Take care of yourself, Caius," Trevor said, his voice calm despite the situation. "I'll be okay."

As the officers led Trevor out of the house, Caius followed them to the porch, watching in disbelief as his father was placed in the back of the police car. The car pulled away, leaving Caius standing alone, feeling a crushing sense of loss.

Back inside the house, Caius's mind raced with questions. Who had reopened the case? What evidence had they found? And most importantly, how could he help his father?

Determined to find answers, Caius grabbed his phone and called Bianca. Despite their recent rift, he knew he needed his friends' help. The phone rang for a few moments before Bianca answered, her voice cautious.

"Caius? What is it?"

"My dad... he just got arrested," Caius said, his voice breaking. "They reopened an old case about the Panthers. I need your help."

There was a brief silence before Bianca replied, her tone filled with concern. "I'll be right over."

Within minutes, Bianca, Grayson, Penelope, and Kial arrived at Caius's house. Despite the tension between them, their concern for Caius overrode their previous discomfort.

"What happened?" Grayson asked, his voice urgent.

Caius explained the situation, his words spilling out in a rush. "They said they have new evidence. I don't know what to do."

Penelope placed a reassuring hand on Caius's shoulder. "We'll figure this out together. Your dad needs us."

Bianca nodded. "First, we need to find out more about the case. Maybe there's something we can do to help."

Kial looked thoughtful. "I know someone who might be able to give us more information. I'll make a call."

Kial finished his call and turned to the group, his expression serious. "I just spoke with a friend of mine whose dad works at the police station. Apparently, they reopened your dad's file because they found some new evidence related to an old crime scene. They're being tight-lipped about the details, but it sounds like someone might be pushing for this."

Bianca frowned, deep in thought. "Could it be connected to the principal's death? Maybe someone's trying to stir up trouble and using your dad as a scapegoat."

"It's possible," Penelope said. "We need to dig deeper and find out who might have a motive to reopen the case and frame your dad."

Grayson nodded. "Agreed. Let's split up and gather as much information as we can. Caius, stay in touch with your dad's lawyer. We need to know everything they're planning to use against him."

"Got it," Caius said. "I first need to find a lawyer for him."

"My aunt is a lawyer I can ask her to take your dad's case," Penelope suggested.

"Thank you so much Penie"

"That's what friends are for."
