Chapter 71: Bai Li Pao Pao

The bodyguards behind the chubby boy quickly placed a stack of neatly wrapped gift boxes by Lin QiYe's bed, then lined up behind their master.

"Tsk, what are you guys doing here?" The chubby boy waved his hand impatiently. "This is a new recruit training camp, do you think this is your home?" He shooed them away. "Go, go, don't let my roommate think I like bullying people."

The bodyguards exchanged looks, then reluctantly left.

The chubby boy was left alone, sitting next to the mountain of gifts. He looked down at his clothes, cleared his throat, and sat up straight by the door.

Lin QiYe scratched his head, unsure of what to make of the situation.

After a moment of thought, he slowly walked toward his dorm.

As soon as Lin QiYe appeared in the empty hallway, the chubby boy's eyes lit up. He jumped to his feet, quickly adjusted his attire, and flashed a neat, wide smile at Lin QiYe, who was walking toward him in slippers.

Lin QiYe's expression became awkward. Under the chubby boy's strange gaze, it felt as though he was too stiff to even walk properly.

Finally, Lin QiYe reached the door of the dorm.

"Uh..."

"Hello, I'm Bai Li Tu Ming," the chubby boy said with a smile. "I know the name's a bit hard to pronounce, so you can just call me Tu Ming, or call me Pao Pao!"

Before Lin QiYe could respond, the chubby boy suddenly bowed deeply, startling Lin QiYe, who stumbled back two steps.

"I hope we can be friends. Over the next year, please take care of me!"

This move left Lin QiYe utterly baffled.

"Ahem… um, Bai Li… Bai Li…" Lin QiYe stammered, trying to recall his full name but only remembering "Pao Pao."

"Bai Li… Pao Pao, you don't have to be so formal…"

The chubby boy's eyes sparkled again at the mention of "Pao Pao," clearly liking the nickname. "What's your name, by the way?"

"Oh, I'm Lin QiYe."

"QiYe bro, I brought some local specialties from my hometown. They're not anything expensive, so I hope you don't mind." He smiled as he handed Lin QiYe one gift box after another.

Lin QiYe quickly scanned the boxes with his mental power, and his expression turned utterly perplexed.

"This... a box of Rolex?" Lin QiYe was stunned.

Inside the chubby boy's gift box were twelve Rolex watches—Green Submariner, Explorer, Greenwich—each model was different. If it weren't for the magazines Lin QiYe read, he wouldn't have recognized half of them.

The twelve Rolex watches stacked together in one box gave off a "luxury gift set" vibe.

"What? You don't like Rolex, QiYe bro?" The chubby boy was taken aback and set the Rolex aside, picking up another box. "How about Patek Philippe? Cartier? Breguet? I've got those too..."

"QiYe bro, I originally wanted to bring something else, but most of the stuff in the training camp can't be used, so I thought watches would be the best gift."

Lin QiYe's arms were piling up with gift boxes. After a long pause, he finally spoke.

"Bai Li Pao Pao, does your family... run a watch business?"

"No, our family is involved in all kinds of businesses," Bai Li Pao Pao chuckled. "But don't get me wrong, I'm just an ordinary kid from an ordinary family. I'm not some rich heir. I'm really down to earth... uh, I mean, very approachable."

"I don't believe you..."

Lin QiYe secretly rolled his eyes, putting the boxes aside. "I don't want these things."

"Why not?" Bai Li Pao Pao was alarmed. "Just take them, they're not that valuable. It's just a gift..."

"I don't like accepting gifts."

"Well then..." Bai Li Pao Pao looked at Lin QiYe, then at the gift boxes in his hands, sweat starting to form.

Lin QiYe glanced at him and sighed. "Just hold on to them. If I ever want them, you can give them to me then."

"Alright..." Bai Li Pao Pao reluctantly put the boxes away, then slowly opened his suitcase, throwing everything—bed sheets, pillowcases—onto the bed.

He then flopped down onto the bed.

Lin QiYe twitched his lips. "What are you doing?"

"Sleeping," Bai Li Pao Pao said, patting the rumpled bedding. "It's actually pretty comfortable."

Lin QiYe: ...

Lin QiYe wasn't the type to meddle, but the chubby boy seemed suspicious. Not wanting to cause trouble, he closed his eyes and pretended to sleep.

After a while, Bai Li Pao Pao quietly got up and softly called, "QiYe bro... QiYe~~"

Lin QiYe kept his eyes closed, unmoving.

Bai Li Pao Pao cautiously stood up and tiptoed toward the wardrobe, rummaging through it.

What is this chubby boy up to?

Lin QiYe continued to use his mental power to keep track of every movement.

Moments later, Bai Li Pao Pao returned, carefully holding one of the gift boxes. He sneaked up to Lin QiYe's bed and quietly slid the boxes under the bed.

Lin QiYe: ...

This chubby boy... so persistent?!

A wave of annoyance rose in Lin QiYe. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and looked straight at Bai Li Pao Pao.

"What are you doing?"

Bai Li Pao Pao froze, falling to the floor with a thud. He nervously stared at Lin QiYe's eyes, his mind racing.

Then, he awkwardly crawled to Lin QiYe's feet...

Sniffed.

"QiYe, your feet smell so good."

Lin QiYe: .......

Lin QiYe was completely stunned. Even with his quick thinking, he couldn't figure out how to respond to this.

What kind of creature is this?

Seeing Lin QiYe still frozen, Bai Li Pao Pao hesitated for a moment, then stretched his foot toward Lin QiYe's face, cautiously asking:

"How about... you smell mine?"

Lin QiYe's murderous intent flared up...

---

Elsewhere, on another building.

The chief instructor, Yuan Gang, silently put down his binoculars, his expression utterly amusing.

He turned to Instructor Hong and pointed to the two people across from them who were sniffing each other's feet. In a sarcastic tone, he asked:

"So these are the... two dangerous individuals you were talking about?"

Instructor Hong: (?????)

"No..." Instructor Hong rubbed his temples. "This doesn't make sense!

One's a haughty Seraphim agent, and the other's a pampered heir of the Bai Li Group...

These two are staying under the same roof? It's too dangerous to even imagine!

But... what's going on here?"

Yuan Gang patted his shoulder and said, "Hong Hao, to really understand a person, you can't just look at their identity or background...

There are countless people with similar family backgrounds, but everyone's character and personality are unique."

After saying that, Yuan Gang turned and walked away.

Once out of Hong's sight, Yuan Gang finally couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.

"Interesting..."
