13 FUN WORKING

Julian's POV

Aah, damn... I told you this kind of work is dope and fun. You thought I was just bluffing, didn't you? Well... count out the first and second day, the rest ones are lit!

I started partying on Thursday, including the weekend. I've made new friends from the company. I know you're gonna say I'm shameless and a pervert... whatever. It is what it is. Those people I'm calling friends, I've done some nasty and perverted things with them.

And I hear I'm having a case in the CEO's office because there are some girls who fought over me! Now everyone at the company knows that I did it with them, and as if that isn't enough, they are not just two.

I didn't force anyone, honestly. Before we... you know, with any of them, I always make sure they understand there are no strings attached. So why on earth were they fighting about it?!

It's Monday, and yet I still have a very disturbing hangover as always. The wicked day of the week! But I'm cool because I have another wedding to plan that I'll work on alone!

Working alone is fun. I really had fun with Carl and Ryan; now we're like good friends. I can't wait for them to come back from their honeymoon so we can hang out. I feel like I've made real friends for once in my life.

Oh, by the way, now I have Mrs. Henderson's heart. She likes me. No, wait! Not that "like-like." She now thinks I'm the best in her team, and for that reason, she won't make me do anything I don't want to do. She lets me do anything I want as long as I'm doing my work effectively. She even said I could go partying as long as work goes well.

For once, I'm driving to work, only because mom made me drop her off at the hospital where she works, claiming that she hardly spends time with me anymore.

After parking outside the company, I dance my way in. This is becoming my second favorite place—parties being my first.

I greet everyone on my way to my department. They're looking at me like I have a third eye forming on my nose.

"What up, wedding planner people!" I say loudly when I enter my workspace. I slide backward, going to Mrs. Henderson's desk, ready for the fun ahead.

"Good morning Mrs. Hand...," I greet her, grinning, expecting her to return the greeting with the same energy like she always does. But she doesn't look the same today.

What now?

"Good morning, Julian. This is your task for the day." I take the papers and look at them. They really spoil my day, actually my week, or maybe month!

"What is this? Didn't you say I'd be working on the wedding projects?"

"That's not happening, Julian. Mr. Smith himself said this is the kind of work you should be focusing on from now on."

"What?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry, but I tried to speak up for you, but he insisted. Besides, once he decides something, he doesn't change his mind."

What the heck! Seriously, what's wrong with Adam? I can't make sitting at one point in the name of working for a whole day. I'll be sleeping the whole time! Is this his punishment for me? No, this won't work.

How can he tell Mrs. Henderson not to give me a client? What we do in our department is none of his business! As long as the head of the department thinks I'm doing a great job.

I'll have to stay away from him so he doesn't pay much attention to me.

I think as I head to his office, I form my face into an innocent one, only to realize he didn't come in today?! How comes? The curtains are still drawn.

Ugh! C'mon! I take my phone and dial his number several times, but he doesn't pick up. I send several messages without replies. Of course, he won't reply, and I can see that he's online, ignoring me!

"Mrs. Henderson... why don't you just let me do it? He's not around, and besides, I won't be stubborn this time so that he sees I've changed, and for that reason, he won't scold you."

"I'm sorry, dear, but I can't go against him."

"Ugh! But when I sit here, I'll be sleeping all day!"

"You'll have to try."

Shit! I feel like leaving this building right now.

The day goes on slowly. Henderson gives me some tasks to do, which I lazily do until I'm done.

Finally, it's 5 PM—time to go home. I'm not in a great mood, so I'm just going to go home and watch a series or something! Otherwise, I'd be going round and round until it's 10 PM or so.

He still hasn't answered any of my messages, nor has he called back. I can't believe he's this hard-headed. I just want to make his life a little bit fun by befriending him, but he's being so stubborn. Fine, let him die with loneliness.

No one cares!

I park the car in the driveway and walk to the house, heading to mom's room. "They're not home," I hear Cara's voice, only to realize I passed her in the living room.

I turn around and walk to her. "Hey."

"Hey you, what's up? You're home early today, and you look pathetic," she says.

"Why aren't they home?" I ask, not that I have anything burning to tell them...

"Dad has surgery tonight, while Mom went to see Granny. She had something to deliver, so what's up?"

"Nothing much."

"Come on, is it work?"

I nod.

"I thought you were singing here every day that you have fun working. Did something happen?"

"It's that guy—"

"Which guy?"

"The one, so-called CEO."

"You talk about your boss like that?"

"Ugh, man! He has spoiled my interest in working. He told the head of the department to give me boring tasks from now on. Now I'll be sitting in that hellish hole all day—no going out, no nothing!"

"I told you to stop being stubborn. I told you to follow the regulations..."

"I knew you would start blaming me."

"You seriously don't want me to take your side in this, do you? I mean, come on, Jul, it's you we're talking about. You make trouble everywhere you go."

"Okay! Good night," I say, heading to my room.

"Supper?"

"Am fine , tell nanny."

"You wanna sleep on an empty stomach just because your CEO..."

"Shut up." I cut her

"Look, there's nothing to be upset about, you can just go talk to him."

"You have no idea who we're talking about , he never listens. Forget it."
