72. Returning to the Inn

Bai Suzhen walked back to the City of Arcadia alongside Leon, Mira, and Joran, the novice adventurers she had met in the forest. Along the way, they discussed the strange phenomena occurring recently. Leon, who seemed the most enthusiastic, initiated the conversation.

"Why are the goblins leaving the forest anyway? Are they trying to hunt humans? Or maybe they've grown bored of preying on wildlife?" he asked with a tone full of curiosity.

Mira nodded, adding, "Most of the guild missions these days are about exterminating goblins. There are usually other monsters, but lately, it's just goblins crossing the border."

Walking calmly beside them, Bai Suzhen replied in a soft voice, "There's a saying: 'If the river water suddenly turns murky, something must have disturbed the bottom.' The goblins' behavior is not without cause. Something might be driving them out of the forest."

Joran, asked curiously, "So, you think something scared them?"
