Delphinia stood in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting the hem of her blouse for what felt like the hundredth time. Her fingers trembled slightly as she smoothed out the soft fabric, her mind still occupied by the conversation she'd had with Evander the night before.
"A sleepover at your parents' house? You're telling me this now?" she had exclaimed, crossing her arms as she glared at him.
Evander, sitting lazily on the bed, had only raised an eyebrow. "What's the big deal? It's just my parents."
"That's exactly the point," she huffed. "Had I known earlier, I could have prepared more."
Evander chuckled, clearly amused. "Prepared what? We're not going to a royal ball, Delphinia. It's just a casual visit."
