The Power Play

Evander sat in his spacious office, the soft afternoon light filtering through the floor-to-ceiling windows. The rich aroma of grilled meat and seasoned vegetables lingered in the air as he sliced through a perfectly cooked sausage, bringing it to his mouth with measured elegance. Across from him sat Hugo, who was halfway through his own meal.

Hugo let out a weary sigh, pushing his plate slightly forward. "Kai Robinson is relentless. He's been calling non-stop, practically throwing promises of rewards and gifts just to get a meeting with you."

Evander chuckled, his deep voice echoing in the quiet room. He chewed his bite thoughtfully before swallowing. "Let him beg. Ignore him. He thinks being a Robinson gives him the right to anything he wants. But even the Robinsons can't measure up to the Waltons."

Hugo smirked. "You're right, but I swear, if I have to take another one of his calls, I might lose it."
