The next morning, Lena was greeted by her assistant, Sara, holding a thick stack of reports.
"Good morning, Ms. Hart. These are the updates from the departments you requested. Oh, and another letter arrived for you this morning." Sara said.
Lena froze mid-reach for her coffee. "Another letter?"
Sara nodded and handed over a small, unmarked envelope. It was identical to the one from Vivian.
Lena's chest tightened as she opened it carefully. This time, the message was shorter but even more ominous:
"Every victory has a cost. Do you know what yours is?"
There was no signature, but the handwriting was the same jagged, hurried script. Lena felt a chill creep up her spine.
Lena immediately called Elias to her office. He arrived within minutes, his brow furrowed in concern as she handed him the letter.
"This isn't just Vivian venting her anger, Someone is watching us, Elias. They know too much." Lena said.
