Chapter 170: "The Holy Spirit Douluo Ya Li!"

"You may leave."

Cai Yue'er's calm words were laced with seething anger. Were it not for her position as the dean of Shrek Academy's outer court and her years of self-restraint, or had this happened twenty or thirty years ago, she might have already taken action against Gu Yue for her insolent remarks, teaching her a lesson about the dignity of a Douluo.

Hearing Cai Yue'er's decision to cancel Gu Yue's exam eligibility, Shen Yi grew frantic, her expression on the verge of tears. However, she could not bring herself to dissuade Elder Cai, as Gu Yue's words had indeed been excessively disrespectful, effectively trampling on the dignity of a Title Douluo.

All she could hope for now was that Gu Yue would realize her mistake and apologize to Elder Cai. Perhaps there was still a chance to salvage the situation.

Shen Yi grasped Gu Yue's arm as she was about to leave, her tone filled with pleading. "Gu Yue, please apologize to Elder Cai. Are you really going to give up the opportunity you've worked so hard to earn?"

Gu Yue remained silent. From her indifferent expression, it seemed she truly did not care.

"Jing Shaoyu, help me persuade her! Are you just going to stand by and watch her walk away?" Shen Yi turned to Jing Shaoyu, only to see him standing as well, clearly intending to leave with Gu Yue. She felt utterly helpless.

Jing Shaoyu could already tell that Gu Yue's actions were deliberate—meant to stand up for him. After all, Cai Yue'er had belittled him earlier. Gu Yue wouldn't let such remarks slide.

Still, Jing Shaoyu couldn't help but admire Cai Yue'er's composure. Despite everything, she had managed to hold her temper. Truly worthy of being the dean of Shrek Academy's outer court.

"Teacher Shen, perhaps Shrek Academy simply isn't meant for us," Jing Shaoyu said apologetically. "Please convey our gratitude to Teacher Wu for his three years of guidance. It is we who failed to meet his expectations."

"I feel the same way," added Xu Xiaoyan with a nod.

Jing Shaoyu and Xu Xiaoyan walked over to Gu Yue's side, standing shoulder to shoulder with her as they made their way toward the door.

"You all…" Shen Yi's eyes welled with tears.

Cai Yue'er remained expressionless as she watched them go, though she felt a pang of internal conflict. She had only wanted an excuse to de-escalate the situation. Why were these children so stubborn?

Watching the three walk out of the classroom, Shen Yi was on the brink of despair. Cai Yue'er's expression grew increasingly grim. At last, the one who had been silently observing the situation chose to intervene, stepping into view.

"Wait."

Her gentle, soothing voice instantly caught the attention of everyone present.

Cai Yue'er, Shen Yi, and the two middle-aged examiners all looked at the source of the voice, their expressions filled with shock. In unison, they greeted her respectfully: "Greetings, Holy Spirit Douluo!"

Jing Shaoyu and his companions paused mid-step, instinctively turning toward the voice. Standing at the center of the classroom was a graceful woman with an aura of warmth and sanctity. Her emerald-green hair cascaded down her back, and her gentle smile radiated a calming energy, filling their hearts with peace and tranquility.

"It's really her!" Jing Shaoyu thought, a wave of realization washing over him.

It was none other than the Holy Spirit Douluo, Ya Li.

"I saw everything that happened," Ya Li said softly. "Yue'er, you acted impulsively."

"Your Holiness, I…" Cai Yue'er felt a pang of grievance. How had she been impulsive? She was the one who had been offended!

"Calm yourself and hear me out," Ya Li said with a wave of her hand, her tone gentle yet firm. She turned to Gu Yue and continued, "Gu Yue, I know you spoke out earlier to defend Jing Shaoyu. But Elder Cai has already apologized to him. For you to treat her this way afterward—don't you think that's excessive and lacking in compassion?"

"I don't care. She shouldn't have spoken about Shaoyu like that," Gu Yue said stubbornly, her lips pursed.

"You're quite protective, aren't you?" Ya Li replied with a helpless smile. "I can allow you to continue the exam, but only if you apologize to Elder Cai. I assure you, Elder Cai will not hold this matter against you."

"Gu Yue, please agree!" Shen Yi exclaimed excitedly. "Her Holiness is an Ultimate Douluo, the highest-ranking figure in the Academy. If she says so, Elder Cai will certainly agree."

Cai Yue'er's face remained expressionless, though inwardly she sighed. This situation had painted her as some kind of villainous examiner, when in reality, she was just as much a victim.

Gu Yue turned her gaze to Jing Shaoyu.

"Follow your heart. Whatever decision you make, I'll support you unconditionally," Jing Shaoyu said with a gentle smile.

Ya Li's expression softened slightly upon hearing his words. Gu Yue fell silent for a moment before letting out a quiet sigh. "I'll apologize, but on one condition."

"Name it." Ya Li's relief was palpable. If this dragged on any longer, it would become truly unmanageable.

"I wasn't wrong," Gu Yue declared.

Ya Li, Cai Yue'er, and Shen Yi: "…"

This girl had a sharp tongue and an unyielding personality.

"Fine," Ya Li said with a sigh, shaking her head slightly.

Reluctantly, Gu Yue stepped in front of Cai Yue'er, her eyes avoiding direct contact. "I'm sorry," she muttered.

Cai Yue'er stared at the girl's half-hearted apology and felt a wave of exhaustion. Waving her hand dismissively, she said, "Fine. I've heard enough. Move on to the next round."

With that, the ordeal finally came to an end. Shen Yi felt a wave of relief wash over her.

Without wasting a moment, Shen Yi ushered Jing Shaoyu and the others out of the classroom, practically dragging them toward the next exam site like she was fleeing a battlefield.

The classroom now only held Ya Li, Cai Yue'er, and the two middle-aged examiners, who seemed desperate to sink into the ground and vanish. They envied Shen Yi's ability to leave so easily.

"Yue'er, you've been wronged," Ya Li said, taking Cai Yue'er's hand with an apologetic smile.

The sight was somewhat comical: a youthful and vibrant woman comforting an elderly one as if she were a child, while the older woman looked as though she had been unfairly scolded.

In reality, Ya Li was over twenty years older than Cai Yue'er. When Cai Yue'er had first joined Shrek Academy, Ya Li was already a Title Douluo. The difference in status and strength between them was vast.

"Your Holiness, you've taken an interest in Jing Shaoyu, haven't you?" Cai Yue'er asked quietly.

"Yes." Ya Li did not deny it. "I'm sure you've noticed as well—his martial soul contains incredibly pure life energy. It even inspires a sense of reverence within me."

"How is that possible?" Cai Yue'er looked up in shock. "Your Holiness, are you serious? He's only a Soul Ancestor. How could he evoke reverence in the Angel of Mercy?"

Ya Li smiled faintly. "That's exactly why I must take him as my disciple—to pass on my legacy and make him the guardian of all living beings on this continent."

"I see," Cai Yue'er said solemnly, her respect for Ya Li deepening. To her, only a woman like Ya Li was worthy of standing alongside someone as heroic as her late husband.

"Don't dwell on Gu Yue's words," Ya Li said with a gentle laugh. "Doesn't she remind you of your younger self? Bold, passionate, and a bit headstrong."

"Perhaps," Cai Yue'er replied with a sigh, lost in thought. "I never realized that's how you saw me."

"Well, I'll leave you to your work," Ya Li said with a chuckle. In the next moment, her figure vanished from the

room.

"Farewell, Your Holiness," the two middle-aged examiners said in unison, bowing respectfully.
