CHAPTER 15: The boss suddenly became gentle

The sound of rain poured down in his ears, the midday sky was gloomy. There was no light between the dark clouds. It was as if it had turned into evening.

His eyebrows were tightly knitted, Anh Tu was bandaged like a mummy. His handsome face was pitifully bruised. His eyes were swollen and purple, his nose was almost dislocated from the beating, but it had been treated.

In the pain from his body, he opened his eyes and gasped for breath. Cold sweat soaked his whole body, every time he breathed, his chest ached.

Tears suddenly flowed, because of the pain. This was the first time he shed tears after being beaten so hard. A big, strong young man suddenly sobbed because of being beaten: "It hurts so much, Mom... I want to go home, I don't want to work here anymore..!".

All for thirty million, not knowing when he would have to give his life to the Grim Reaper. There was no easy job with a sky-high salary. He had to exchange something to receive the worthy reward from the god of death.

If only he hadn't been greedy for material things from the beginning, and had just accepted compensation and left, wouldn't that have been less miserable? Anh Tu blamed himself for being foolishly tempted by money.

Because he was poor, he couldn't avoid the magnetic attraction of money. In this world, money could decide many things, so a poor person like him had to have money to have the right to decide his own future.

Was he wrong to work for boss Hoang?

That cold face suddenly appeared, Anh Tu's first feeling was anger. Anger surged. But what made him collapse the most was the great fear of Hoang Minh Quan.

Remembering the bottomless, soulless eyes, as if falling into an abyss swallowed by darkness, looking at him at that time. Although he didn't pay much attention to it, he vaguely felt a deep despair inside. It seemed... boss Hoang was jealous of his wife. He thought so, the truth about what he had in his heart was completely unknown to him.

Anh Tu sighed, he was at fault in this matter. He was a servant who did not know reason, did not distinguish right from wrong, but put dirty thoughts on the young mistress, the wife of the boss Hoang. That was why he was beaten by him, not wrong.

This was the first time a country boy knew love, it seemed that he was moved by Truong Phi Yen day by day. The time they spent together seemed to be spent all day long. He stayed home as a nanny waiting for the boss to return to take care of him, while she stayed home embroidering and reading books.

Thanks to that, he and she established a vague and obscure relationship. She saw him as her brother, but he saw her as someone he secretly loved.

Anh Tu sadly placed his hand on his chest. Thinking of that beautiful appearance, that tender affection, made his heart ache slightly.

That's the wife of the boss Hoang, a lowly person like me deserves to have her?

He was jealous of Hoang Minh Quan and cried silently in his heart.

It's true that without money, there's no love...

"Woof". De Lo ran in from outside the door, it licked his hand and raised its sad face to make a few sounds. It was as if it was worried about its owner.

Anh Tu's remaining unbandaged hand rubbed its head. Even dogs know human feelings, but Hoang Minh Quan didn't understand what human feelings were. He scolded him for having a personality that was far worse than his dog's.

The more he thought about him, the more his body ached. Being surrounded by a group of people who looked like gangsters with high martial arts skills, beating him up alone was like a bunch of bad fish sharing the spoils and eating him.

What an evil, evil person!

De Lo rubbed its head against his palm, it seemed like it understood what it was seeing so it didn't unconsciously jump on its owner to play with him. It was very obedient, afraid that its owner would be hurt, so it only went to comfort him a little and then lay still at the foot of the bed at the end of the bed.

Cạch, Ms. Ngoc walked in with a tray of porridge and medicine in her hand. She walked in with a guilty expression on her face, anyone who saw her knew that she had done something that made her regretful.

She placed the tray of porridge on the bedside table, not looking up, just bowing her head to avoid Anh Tu's eyes. Seeing him injured like a cripple, she couldn't help but feel guilty. Without saying a word, she quickly left.

It was also because of her that the poor kid ended up in this situation. At first, when she saw him and Phi Yen being too intimate, she felt fear in her heart. Afraid that the boss would find out about this and suddenly return home, turning this cold house into a real haunted house.

So she took advantage of the moment when boss Hoang's mood was stable to quickly take a photo to report that his wife and his servant were together, doing something in the bedroom. Let everything come to light and be resolved quickly. Whatever happened that night, it was just the three of them, no one else involved.

Anh Tu suddenly called her: "Ms. Ngoc".

She jumped and stopped: "What, what's wrong?".

He raised his eyebrows in confusion, then asked: "How many days have I been unconscious?".

She did not turn around to face him, but just stood there and replied, her voice tiny: "Three days".

She was often hard of hearing and could not hear clearly, so he asked again: "What?".

Ngoc sighed, finally turning around: "You have been unconscious for three days".

He was beaten for three days before he woke up?! He was so surprised that his jaw hurt: "So, so during that time, the boss...". When mentioning him, he clicked his tongue: "How was he?".

Ngoc found it so funny, this innocent kid was beaten to death by his boss, but as soon as he opened his eyes, he asked about him. She said with a frightened expression: "The boss was very angry, but he was so quiet that it was scary. The whole house was suffocated by his murderous aura. No one wanted to see him. Everyone was very afraid that they would... die".

Anh Tu swallowed his saliva: "What... Why do you say such a terrible thing?".

With a gloomy face, she closed the door and went to him and said: "You probably don't know, because of you, the boss was kicked out by him."

Like a thunderbolt, Truong Phi Yen's pitiful face appeared. He clenched his fists. He remembered that day when it rained so hard that it made his heart heavy. Yet the person he liked was heartlessly kicked out of the house by a devil.

Imagining Phi Yen standing in the rain with no place to stop, he was angry: "Is Hoang Minh Quan still human?!".

Sister Ngoc was terrified and quickly covered his mouth: "Why, why do you dare to scold the boss like that?! Do you want to continue living?!".

He removed her hand, his face red with anger: "If he was human, we wouldn't have to avoid him like a ghost! Yen still hasn't come home yet?!".

Surprised to hear him call the boss's name, her face paled and she asked softly: "Hey, you and the boss really... had an affair behind the boss's back?".

Anh Tu paused, feeling guilty in his heart and lowered his head: "I... This is not like what you think, it's just... Yen wants to keep me company in this cold house in loneliness. It's all Minh Quan's fault, if he knew how to love his wife then...".

The more he spoke, the more it seemed like he was confirming that he and Truong Phi Yen really had an affair. He immediately shut his mouth and stopped talking.

Knowing what he would say next, Ngoc sighed: "The boss's marriage is not our place to interfere. That guy should still give up that evil thought. Seeing that you're stupid, I said, don't let yourself become a disgusting, terrible third person. I advise you to confess to the boss and stay away from the boss."

Each word was like an arrow piercing his chest, his lips moved. Sister Ngoc was right, a lowly person like him had no right to reach the golden branch and jade leaf. How could a pair of chopsticks dream of a golden tray?

Looking at his sad eyes, Sister Ngoc didn't know what to say other than shaking her head. She only knew he was so foolish.

"What are you two talking about?".

Anh Tu and Sister Ngoc were startled and immediately looked towards the door: "?!".

Sister Ngoc turned pale and lowered her head: "Sir, boss".

Hoang Minh Quan glared at her in the wheelchair, he lowered his voice: "Go out and work".

She hurriedly left. The door closed gently, leaving only the two of them in the room.

Seeing him, Anh Tu avoided the gaze that was passing by. There was anger and guilt in his heart.

Minh Quan's face did not change: "Is there nothing you want to say to me?".

A finger trembled slightly, his heart was pounding. He secretly took a deep breath and slowly sighed. His words were a bit reluctant: "I'm sorry...".

"Just that?".

He didn't dare turn his head to look at him: "I'm sorry".

He smiled faintly: "It's only been almost a month, right? How has your relationship progressed?".

Startled, he pursed his lips: "No, don't misunderstand."

The wheel rolled slowly towards his bed. Anh Tu glanced at him, suddenly closing his eyes because the other person's hand raised. Thinking that he was going to slap him, suddenly his cheek felt warm, he opened his eyes in surprise. Minh Quan was touching his cheek, the warmth from his palm spread.

"Does it hurt?". He asked.

Feeling a little embarrassed, he quickly moved his head away from his hand. Annoyed, he said: "I must be a buffalo that doesn't know pain."

Pulling his hand back, he looked at his arm in a cast, feeling sorry: "... I'm sorry."

Anh Tu beside him seemed to have misheard, immediately turning back to look straight at him. He didn't think that he had been beaten until his brain and ears were confused. The apology just now came from this cold, unpleasant person. It must be a stormy day today.

He was stunned, then frowned and looked away: "You don't need to apologize, it's my fault for daring to touch the boss."

Minh Quan sighed: "I was too agitated."

Why are you suddenly so gentle today? Didn't you come here to find trouble to beat me up again? Did you take the wrong medicine?

Trinh Anh Tu bitterly glanced at him and cursed a few rude words in his heart.

"You're really strange." He blamed: "If I were you, I would love Yen with all my heart, not let her suffer and live alone. Do you know that she is the wife who spent her youth by your side, taking care of you and loving you?! Ha, and yet you heartlessly chased her away."

Seeing in the depths of his eyes were so many thoughts for Truong Phi Yen, along with the anger that wanted to vent on her behalf. His heart felt uncomfortable, jealousy crept up. He really wanted to slap Trinh Anh Tu to cover up his unintentional anger.

In the end, he couldn't do it, suppressing his anger and looking at the bowl of hot and fragrant porridge on the table. He picked up the bowl of porridge in front of Anh Tu's unpredictable gaze. Scooped up the porridge, blew on it: "Quickly open your mouth".

He raised his eyebrows, his eyelids twitched. What was this situation? The ruthless boss Hoang was feeding porridge to the damn nanny?

He was wondering if the person in front of him was still Hoang Minh Quan: "Let me, let me eat by myself".

"With your hands like that, can you still scoop it yourself?".

Anh Tu was speechless, who in the world would let the boss feed him?

Minh Quan was very hateful, but sometimes he did things that he couldn't predict.

Surely he didn't put poison in the porridge?... Wanting to take advantage of this opportunity to eliminate him? Death while eating. He didn't want such a ridiculous death!

His stomach suddenly growled, looking at the yellow porridge of eggs and minced meat and carrots, his stomach felt like it was twisting. Why not eat it and still stand there with dignity. It was better than being in so much pain that he died.

He was both scared and cautious as he slurped the porridge, the taste was quite satisfactory so he did not hesitate and waited for him to continue feeding him.

Seeing him obediently, he was relieved. In a place where no one could see, he was secretly smiling.

A crippled boss was feeding porridge to a crippled nanny. This scene could not be described in words. It was like a healthy leaf covering a torn leaf, but it was not, because boss Hoang was crippled and not healthy. Could it be that a crippled bird was covering a crippled bird?

His limited knowledge made his thoughts a place for humor. Hoang Minh Quan was the cripple, and he was the one who helped the cripple move.
