Chapter 188: Madara the Afterlife Guide

Chapter 188: Madara the Afterlife Guide

After killing Madara, Uchiha Yi decided not to let the system collect Madara's soul. Instead, he allowed him to journey to the Pure Land.

Initially, Uchiha Yi expected that after killing Ashura, the Sage of Six Paths would appear to strike him down. After all, he had killed both of the Sage's sons, a grudge that could not be taken lightly.

However, half an hour had passed, and there was still no sign of the Sage. This left Uchiha Yi wondering: could the old man be afraid and hiding somewhere?

If that was the case, there wasn't much Uchiha Yi could do about it. So, he came up with another plan: use Madara as a guide.

Thanks to the Flying Flame God mark and his level 30 Fire Element Escape, locating the Pure Land was a simple matter. He just needed a spatial coordinate.

Upon returning to the shinobi world, Uchiha Yi's sudden reappearance, while Madara was nowhere to be found, sparked curiosity among the gathered crowd.

No one dared to ask questions, though. With the situation unresolved and tensions still high, everyone remained silent, waiting for Uchiha Yi to dictate their fates.

"Found it!"

Upon his return, Uchiha Yi focused on the Flying Flame God mark left on Madara. It wasn't long before he located the final coordinate, which seemed to be the Pure Land.

With a flash of flames, Uchiha Yi vanished into the Fire Element Escape's spatial domain, emerging at the location marked on Madara's soul.

The scene before him was surreal. The sky was a dull gray, shrouded in endless mist.

"So, this is the Pure Land?"

Uchiha Yi observed his surroundings. The barren, lifeless landscape felt desolate and eerie.

According to legends, the Pure Land was said to be a place resembling either paradise or hell, with the Reaper as its ruler. The Reaper was believed to govern the souls in this realm.

But where did the Sage of Six Paths fit in this hierarchy?

Shrugging off the speculation, Uchiha Yi muttered, "No point in overthinking. The truth will soon reveal itself."

"Y-you… why are you here?"

Madara, who had just arrived in the Pure Land, was still catching his breath when he saw Uchiha Yi appear. His shock left him stammering.

"Yo, long time no see!"

Uchiha Yi greeted him with a playful grin.

"How did you follow me here?"

Madara's voice trembled as he questioned Uchiha Yi, his guard fully raised.

"You brought me here, didn't you? No need to overthink it," Uchiha Yi replied casually. "More importantly, can you give me a tour? What's this place like, and where are we now?"

"What are you planning in the Pure Land?" Madara asked, his wariness growing.

"Just here to visit an old friend," Uchiha Yi replied. "You know him—Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki, the Sage of Six Paths."

"And you think I'd help you?"

Madara sneered, unwilling to cooperate. He hadn't forgotten the humiliation of being killed by Uchiha Yi.

"Madara, do you know why you failed?"

"You think it's because Black Zetsu betrayed you. But that's only part of the story."

"You don't understand. Someone has been manipulating everything from the shadows. You were never in control; you were just a pawn in a grander scheme."

Madara froze, his sharp mind piecing together Uchiha Yi's implications.

"Are you saying the Sage of Six Paths was behind it all?"

"Think about it," Uchiha Yi continued. "Even without Black Zetsu's betrayal, you were doomed to fail. You would've been nothing more than a vessel for Indra. Can you imagine losing your identity and becoming someone else's puppet?"

Madara's face darkened. He had always believed he was the master of his destiny, yet the thought of being reduced to a tool filled him with dread.

"Do you understand now? Helping me isn't about helping me—it's about helping yourself."

"Indra and Ashura are gone. What do you think the Sage of Six Paths will do now to maintain his grand design?"

"Will he resurrect you and Hashirama, forcing you to repeat the same endless cycle of war?"

Uchiha Yi's words were a sharp dagger, cutting through Madara's remaining doubts.

Madara clenched his fists, fury and frustration welling up inside him. He couldn't let himself or Hashirama be enslaved by the Sage's will.

"I understand," Madara finally said.

"Wise choice," Uchiha Yi said with a sly grin, giving Madara a thumbs-up.

"The Pure Land operates differently from the living world…"

Madara explained how the Pure Land wasn't like the Underworld, where souls reincarnated. Instead, it allowed deceased souls to exist and interact. However, souls in the Pure Land aged over time. To delay their decay, most souls remained dormant in a deep sleep.

He also revealed that the Pure Land was initially governed by the Reaper, but the Sage of Six Paths had overthrown the Reaper long ago, taking control of the realm. Over the centuries, the Sage used the Pure Land as a hub, gathering powerful souls to further his unknown agenda.

Uchiha Yi processed the information carefully, his mind racing to form strategies.

"Are you confident about this?" Madara asked, his tone skeptical. "The Sage is far more powerful than Ashura or Kaguya."

"Madara, have you ever seen me at my peak?" Uchiha Yi asked, smirking.

Madara rolled his eyes, refusing to dignify Uchiha Yi's arrogance with a response. This man never missed a chance to flaunt his strength, and frankly, it was irritating.

Yet deep down, Madara couldn't help but feel a sliver of hope. If anyone could stand against the Sage, it might just be this maddening, unpredictable Uchiha.
