Chapter 191: Master of Thunder and Lightning

Chapter 191: Master of Thunder and Lightning

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A light blue creature, about the size of a tiger but resembling a cat, was summoned to the battlefield.

After summoning the now-enlarged Little Blue, Tonari closed his eyes amidst the cacophony of clashing chakra and chaos on the battlefield, attempting to sense the flow of natural energy.

The chakra-infused atmosphere made natural energy volatile and restless. Even with Tonari's calm focus, absorbing it and transforming it into senjutsu chakra was no easy task.

In the past, Tonari wouldn't have been able to absorb natural energy under such turbulent conditions. However, now that he had neutralized the threat posed by Hashirama's cells and partially fused them with his own, his sensitivity to and control over natural energy had improved tremendously.

His ability to absorb natural energy into his body and convert it into senjutsu chakra, as well as the potency of his senjutsu techniques, had grown significantly.

Although Rasa didn't fully understand what Tonari was doing, he knew it couldn't be allowed to continue.

The golden sand forming his signature obelisk shot toward Tonari once more.

But this time, standing in its path was the massive Little Blue.

"Meow!"

Little Blue's roar reverberated with confidence as a layer of red and black chakra cloaked its body—the signature form of a Tailed Beast's chakra shroud.

Boom!

With a single swipe of its paw, Little Blue sent the golden sand obelisk flying, showcasing immense strength that left Rasa momentarily stunned.

He quickly realized that the chaotic chakra enveloping the cat bore an uncanny resemblance to the energy signature of a Tailed Beast.

While the energy felt different from Shukaku's, its unmistakable aura of power and chaos indicated a connection to a Tailed Beast.

"Did this boy seal a Tailed Beast inside a summoned creature?" Rasa's mind raced at the possibility.

But he quickly dismissed the thought.

The Tailed Beasts, proud and untamable, would never allow themselves to be sealed inside a summoning animal. Even if such a feat were achieved, the Tailed Beast's power wouldn't cooperate willingly.

Moreover, Little Blue not only displayed no signs of being dominated by the Tailed Beast's chakra but wielded it with remarkable composure.

"So, it's not a complete Tailed Beast? Just fragments of its chakra?"

Rasa's thoughts aligned with the truth.

Again, he directed his golden sand obelisk at Tonari, only for Little Blue to send it flying effortlessly.

Rasa observed carefully and noticed a subtle difference—the intensity of the Tailed Beast's chakra had thinned, and Little Blue's strength seemed slightly reduced.

"It's just as I thought," Rasa muttered to himself. "The Tailed Beast chakra stored in the summon isn't infinite. With enough attacks, its power will diminish."

However, Little Blue wasn't merely relying on stored Tailed Beast chakra. The chakra had been carefully integrated into its body using a unique method, allowing it to replenish its reserves naturally.

Even so, the rate of recovery couldn't keep up with the consumption during intense combat.

But Tonari didn't summon Little Blue to fight indefinitely.

Its purpose was to buy him a brief moment.

When Tonari reopened his eyes, blue markings resembling thick eyeliner had appeared around them, and his pupils had taken on a feline, vertical-slit appearance.

The aura around him shifted dramatically.

For the first time, after extensive training and experimentation, Tonari had entered Sage Mode entirely through his own efforts, independent of the support of Tailed Beast chakra.

This transformation enhanced his perception of senjutsu chakra and provided him with an unprecedented sense of control and power.

Looking at his hands, Tonari murmured, "It feels like my entire body is surging with energy. Is this the effect of Hashirama's cells harmonizing with senjutsu chakra?"

The transformation was invigorating.

Unlike the agonizing strain of the Eight Gates technique, Sage Mode enveloped Tonari in a sense of tranquility and harmony with nature, a stark contrast to the pain-driven strength of the Gates.

Tonari's attention returned to Little Blue, and he gestured for the creature to come closer.

"Come on, Little Blue."

Sensing the natural energy radiating from Tonari, Little Blue leaped toward him, the Tailed Beast chakra cloak dissipating as it shrank to its original size and merged into Tonari's embrace.

With the fusion complete, Tonari's Sage Mode intensified, the senjutsu chakra within him reaching near-tangible levels.

A faint smirk crossed his face.

"This synergy is better than I imagined. Fusing Sage Mode with Little Blue's chakra enhances both potency and versatility."

As Tonari contemplated the potential, Rasa studied him closely, sensing a shift in the battle's dynamics.

Tonari's every step toward Rasa carried the weight of nature itself. The oppressive aura made Rasa's forehead bead with sweat as he instinctively tightened his control over his golden sand.

A massive obelisk of golden sand descended toward Tonari, only to be deflected with a single punch.

The sight left Rasa stunned.

A strike that had previously required Tonari to use his blade to deflect was now brushed aside with ease.

Rasa's gaze sharpened, and he summoned even more golden sand, his movements deliberate and precise.

"Magnet Release: Grand Sand Spear Burial!"

Rasa's golden sand formed a colossal spear, hundreds of meters long and tens of meters thick, suspended above the battlefield.

Tonari glanced at the towering construct and smirked.

"You've heard the saying, haven't you? Cats have nine lives. How many do you have, Rasa?"

Rasa's brow furrowed at the cryptic remark.

Before he could reply, the sky erupted with a deafening crack of thunder.

The ongoing battle between Konoha and Sunagakure continued below. Blood, mud, and shattered puppets littered the ground as shinobi fought tooth and nail.

But all eyes turned skyward as lightning coalesced above the battlefield, drawn by the immense chakra radiating from Tonari.

Rasa, sensing the impending danger, recalled his golden sand to form a protective barrier around himself.

"Too late," Tonari whispered, his voice carrying an unshakable confidence.

"Senjutsu: Lightning Release—Kirin!"

The storm clouds above twisted and churned, converging into a massive thunderous beast. Its head resembled a lion, with antlers, tiger-like eyes, and a serpent-like body cloaked in a blinding electric aura.

The sheer presence of the lightning construct was overwhelming, its roar echoing like the wrath of nature itself.

As the colossal beast descended toward Rasa, even the hardened shinobi on the battlefield paused to witness the spectacle.

Orochimaru, observing from afar, licked his lips, his serpentine eyes gleaming with intrigue.

"This is the extent of your hidden potential, Tonari? You continue to surprise me. How much further can you grow?"

Meanwhile, Chiyo's expression turned grim. She knew the devastation this technique could unleash on the battlefield and the irreversible impact it could have on the Sand Shinobi forces.

Desperate to intervene, she was intercepted by Orochimaru's serpents.

"Not so fast, Chiyo. Let's finish what we started," Orochimaru hissed, his tone cold and unyielding.

As the Kirin plunged toward the earth, its radiant light illuminated the battlefield.

For a fleeting moment, Tonari's silhouette stood tall beneath the storm, embodying the very essence of a lightning god.
