Chapter 196: The Power Structure of the Real World
---
The group following Uchiha Yi with ill intentions turned out to be a few low-level thugs.
With just a few swift moves, Uchiha Yi dealt with them effortlessly. The tables had turned—what started as an attempted robbery ended with the robbers being subdued. These aimless bottom-dwellers couldn't offer much valuable information, but from their ramblings, Uchiha Yi pieced together some basic facts about this world.
The real world is far more complex than I imagined.
The planet was divided into four major powers: The Eastern Empire (Dragon Country), a powerhouse that primarily focused on martial arts and supplemented it with advanced technology. The Ameri Empire, known for its hybrid strength of biogenetics and mechanical technology. The Empire of Light, a nation ruled by the church, where citizens largely worshipped gods, and anyone who didn't was considered an outcast. The source of their supernatural abilities was magic, and they also had technological advancements. The Dark Empire, infamous for chaos, brutality, and lawlessness. Here, survival of the fittest reigned supreme, and power dictated all.
Beyond these four empires, there existed a supreme neutral power called the Infinite Tower.
The Infinite Tower was a mysterious entity predating the emergence of the four empires. It was said to connect to countless parallel worlds and offered missions in these alternate dimensions. Those who completed these missions would receive unimaginable rewards: supernatural abilities, extended lifespans, advanced technologies, powerful magic, or even divine power. The four empires themselves owed much of their power and advancements to the Infinite Tower. However, the prerequisite for taking on these missions was awakened abilities. Without such talents, embarking on these missions was tantamount to suicide.
After hearing about this, Uchiha Yi's interest in the Infinite Tower was piqued. What particularly intrigued him was that the parallel worlds the Infinite Tower connected to resembled the fictional worlds from Earth's entertainment—worlds brought to life and made real. In this reality, such fiction didn't exist, leaving the inhabitants unaware of the plots and details of these alternate dimensions.
"Interesting... So I not only have a cheat system but also knowledge of these world plots. Completing missions should be a breeze!"
Uchiha Yi pondered his circumstances. His system wasn't designed to traverse multiple worlds—it was a self-development system. Its sole purpose was to enhance its host. The system's capability to connect to the real world wasn't a feature but an accident. Originally, the system's trajectory aimed at Earth's parallel world, but an unexpected incident caused a detour, leaving Uchiha Yi stranded in the Naruto world. When the system regained functionality, it reestablished its original trajectory and successfully brought him to this new world. However, the system had limitations—it couldn't traverse worlds beyond its pre-programmed routes.
The Infinite Tower offered Uchiha Yi a new possibility: Instead of relying on his system to access other dimensions, he could now utilize the Infinite Tower to enter and conquer these worlds, growing stronger in the process.
"This opens up a whole new set of opportunities. But for now, I should fully understand how the Infinite Tower operates before diving in." Uchiha Yi also decided that once he unified the Naruto world and solidified its leadership, he would send its residents to conquer other timelines or dimensions within that world.
Just as Uchiha Yi was mulling over his plans, he sensed several hovercars approaching his location.
"Am I being tracked?"
He decided to stay put and assess the situation. After all, this was merely a wood clone; even if it were destroyed, it wouldn't matter.
The hovercars stopped a short distance away, and three uniformed figures—two men and one woman—stepped out.
"Did you recently use supernatural powers?" a burly officer asked, his tone firm but not hostile.
"Is there an issue?" Uchiha Yi replied calmly.
"It's not forbidden to use powers," the officer explained. "But you're an unregistered superhuman, and using abilities without registration is illegal within Dragon Country. Such actions are deemed a potential threat to public safety."
"Am I under arrest?" Uchiha Yi inquired, narrowing his eyes slightly.
"Relax," the officer said, noticing Uchiha Yi's tension. "If you register as a superhuman, today's incident will be overlooked. However, if you misuse your powers in the future, you'll be held accountable."
"Register?" Uchiha Yi considered the implications. From this interaction, it was clear that Dragon Country had tight control over its superhumans. The question was—how did they ensure compliance?
"I understand," Uchiha Yi said with a slight nod. "What do I need to do to register?"
He decided to cooperate for now. After all, there was no need to draw unnecessary attention to himself at this stage.
"Follow us," the officer said.
With that, Uchiha Yi boarded one of the hovercars, preparing to take the first steps toward integrating into this world.
