Chapter 296: Star-Snatching Hand—Jumping into Outer Space, Seizing a Meteorite!
The Five Elders were still trying to contact Kalifa, and she remained on the call without paying them any real attention.
While everyone else was reeling from the sight of that colossal giant, the giant suddenly spoke:
"I am Uchiha Yi!
Here to destroy Judicial Island!
Feel each moment of your pain—
it is the proof of your existence.
Are you ready?"
That majestic voice echoed across Judicial Island, driving everyone below into complete despair.
What kind of grudge was this?!
What did Judicial Island ever do to him?!
But no one dared speak such thoughts aloud, for fear of dying even sooner.
"So this is why Lucci kept warning us to leave Judicial Island..."
Kumadori, usually half-crazed in demeanor, now wore a grave expression as he stared at the giant that seemed to pierce the sky. A profound sense of awe consumed him, and any notion of resistance vanished.
"Chababa! Looks like we're finished!
I won't be able to leak any more secrets after this..."
Fukurou muttered weakly.
"Damn it!
I haven't even beaten that arrogant jerk Lucci yet!
Am I supposed to die here?!"
Jabra roared in frustration.
All three of them regretted not heeding Lucci's warning.
---
Meanwhile, Spandam—recently returned by Lucci—was so terrified after hearing Uchiha Yi wanted to destroy Judicial Island that he practically crawled on the ground, face bruised and swollen, too scared to do anything but beg for his life:
"Honorable Fifth Emperor, we've been framed!
This was all the World Government's doing!
They made us abduct Robin and lure you into their trap, hoping to kill you!
It was never our intention!
We never wanted to oppose you!"
Comparing everything Lucci had done to betray the government, Spandam realized exactly why Uchiha Yi was here. He blamed the World Government for provoking this monstrous being.
And now the trouble had fallen onto his head.
Hoping to survive, Spandam frantically tried to distance himself from the World Government, dumping all the blame on them.
He considered himself clever—perhaps if he surrendered to Uchiha Yi, who stood tens of thousands of meters tall like a god towering over the Earth, he might earn a chance to live.
In Spandam's eyes, the lofty Five Elders meant nothing compared to this terrifying power.
He believed the World Government was doomed for provoking Uchiha Yi, and joining the pirate's ranks was his only hope to survive.
But Spandam's desperate pleas—heard across the live broadcast—infuriated the Five Elders.
All around the world, people watching the broadcast found it hilarious that a World Government official would brazenly stab his superiors in the back:
"Haha, that's pretty bold—
Betraying the World Government right in front of the entire world!
He's got guts!
But guys like that don't usually live long..."
Many viewers disliked—or outright hated—the World Government, so they were more than happy to see its humiliation. Some even cheered Spandam on to make the situation worse.
Standing on his titan's throne, Uchiha Yi listened coldly to Spandam's ranting. He'd prepared all of this as an unmistakable show of force—he wasn't about to abandon it for a few words.
Yes, some of those on Judicial Island might be innocent. But how was that his concern?
They had joined the Navy or the government, so they should be prepared to die in the line of duty. Vacillating between attacking and begging for mercy—no one had patience for that kind of cowardice.
"Robin, you said this man was one of your enemies, right?
I'll give you a chance—kill him."
It was time to end the farce. Uchiha Yi spoke softly to Robin standing beside him.
"Thank you, Captain!"
Robin, voice trembling with emotion, expressed her gratitude. She then crossed her arms over her chest and activated her powers from a distance:
"Six Wheel Flowers—Anchor Flower!"
The moment she unleashed her technique, six arms sprouted from Spandam's body, seizing him by both hands and feet and lifting him into midair.
"What—?!
What the hell is this?! Put me down!
I'm with the Fifth Emperor now; you can't do this to me!"
Spandam shrieked in his nasal voice, struggling desperately. But he was an ordinary human—no match for Robin's abilities.
"Citizens of Ohara—
Let me finally avenge you!"
Robin murmured, clenching her real hands. The remaining two arms emerging from Spandam's torso twisted his neck in a single motion.
Spandam's eyes bulged with terror as his life ended.
His death was only the opening act to Judicial Island's destruction.
---
The giant's thunderous voice resonated again:
"In this world,
No one starts out standing on top of the heavens.
Neither you, nor I, nor the World Government, nor the Celestial Dragons.
But if you of the World Government and the Celestial Dragons have grown accustomed to looking down from on high—
If you fancy yourselves as justice, piling false charges on me whenever you please—
Then come at me again.
See how long your so-called justice lasts!
Now feel this pain—
experience it, understand it, embrace it!"
"Star-Snatching Hand!"
After Spandam's death, the colossal figure rose from its throne. One step on the sea sent towering waves crashing in every direction.
But that was just the beginning.
Everyone watched as the giant bent its knees—then suddenly leapt upward, soaring out of the atmosphere into outer space.
There, the giant casually reached out and grabbed a small meteorite nearby, holding it in one massive hand.
Finally, in a baseball pitcher's posture, the giant aimed at Judicial Island—then threw the meteorite with immense force.
Exceeding Mach 10—ten times the speed of sound—the meteor ignited from air friction, sheathed in flames, dragging a fiery tail across the sky.
