Chapter 139
"I don't know what in the world is wrong with her," Annabelle said as she stood by the kitchen door, her voice trembling with worry. "She was away for a week and finally returned, but now she's suddenly depressed. I don't know what to do with that girl. How can she live if she refuses to eat? It's been three days! Please, Davis, help me talk to her." Her mother saw Davis as a family, they've known each other since forever.
Davis frowned, leaning against the wall, arms crossed. "Three days? You should have called me sooner."
"I thought it would pass," Her mother said, rubbing her forehead. "But it's only gotten worse. She barely speaks, she hasn't eaten a single meal, and she's been locked in that room ever since she came back. It's like something broke her, Davis. I can't reach her."
"I'll talk to her," Davis said firmly.
